It’s Official: Mariah Carey Is Leaving AMERICAN IDOL
May 30, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
It’s official: Mariah Carey won’t be returning to AMERICAN IDOL.
Carey’s publicity team tweeted out the following message: “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol http://mariahcarey.com”
The departure follows the exit of original IDOL judge Randy Jackson. Fellow IDOL newbie Nicki Minaj is expected to not return, but the future of Keith Urban is a little bit more murky — he’s expressed a desire to stay on, but Fox hasn’t publicly committed to keeping him on.
