Report: CASTLE Production Temporarily Shut Down as Nathan Fillion is Mid-Contract Dispute

Production on CASTLE’s sixth season was temporarily halted after series star Nathan Fillion (Castle) failed to show up to work last Friday, Deadline reports.
According to Deadline, Fillion is currently in the midst of a contract dispute with ABC Studios and is requesting a four-day work week, so his absence could be his way of sending a message.
The good news? An ABC rep confirmed the series is in production now. (Which includes guest star Lisa Edelstein, who tweeted an adorable photo from the set of her with CASTLE star Stana Katic.)

THE MINDY PROJECT: James Franco to Guest Star
July 16, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
James Franco has landed a two-episode guest arc on THE MINDY PROJECT, Fox announced. He’ll first appear in the second season premiere, and will also appear in the comedy’s second episode of the year.
According to the network, Franco will play Dr. Paul Leotard, “the charismatic and popular doctor who replaces Mindy (Mindy Kaling) at Shulman & Associates while she is in Haiti on a volunteer mission. A former professional fashion model, Dr. Leotard radically altered his career goals after he accidentally walked off a runway at fashion week and was saved by a pregnant woman. From that day forward, he devoted himself to helping pregnant women and immediately applied to medical school.”
Well…Mindy is going to have a lot to say about that.

“I already said goodbye to you once, Sam; it didn’t seem to take,” SUPERNATURAL’s Bobby Singer told Sam in season 8’s “Taxi Driver.” “No reason to think I won’t see you again, somewhere down the road.”
And, as it turned out, Bobby might have been correct: a CW rep has confirmed that Jim Beaver (Bobby) will guest star in the upcoming ninth season. (Beaver was first to break the news.) As for the how and why? Perhaps we’ll get a bit more insight during this Sunday’s SUPERNATURAL panel at Comic-Con…
Are you excited Beaver is coming back?

Well, this is…interesting: following AMERICAN DAD’s upcoming 10th season on Fox, the series will jump ship for its 11th season to make the move to TBS.
“AMERICAN DAD! is a great fit for TBS, a favorite of comedy fans who like smart, irreverent humor with ample doses of biting wit and skewering satire,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming Seth MacFarlane and the rest of his team as they bring this iconic show to TBS.”
“American Dad! is a brilliantly inventive series, and TBS’s desire to platform new episodes demonstrates the enduring power of great and compelling content,” said Twentieth Century Fox TV Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden. “Seth, Mike and Matt have created an incredibly rich world of unique characters, and we couldn’t be happier that they will be able to continue to tell their trademark brand of subversive, hilarious stories to their millions of fans.”
AMERICAN DAD’s 15-episode 11th season will debut on TBS in late 2014.

LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON: Mets Pitcher Matt Harvey Surveys New Yorkers About Their Thoughts on Matt Harvey

In some sports, athletes retain a bit of anonymity as being out of their uniforms (and hats/helmets) make it a little bit more difficult for fans to identify them off of the field/court. And rookie Mets pitcher Matt Harvey — who will start tomorrow night’s All-Star Game for the National League — had that reinforced the hard way when LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON had Harvey go up to Mets fans in New York to get their take on him…without tipping his hand that he was actually Matt Harvey.
Take a look at the hilarious results…

For HANNIBAL fans, Ellen Greene may have just started her journey on the series as Mrs. Komeda. But for long-time fans of HANNIBAL creator Bryan Fuller, it’s yet another collaboration for the two, in a working relationship that has now spanned six years and three different shows. (In addition to Greene’s co-starring role on Fuller’s PUSHING DAISIES, she also guest-starred on HEROES, where Fuller was a producer.)
At the Saturn Awards, I talked with Greene about working with Fuller again, if she’ll be returning to HANNIBAL in season 2, and whether PUSHING DAISIES has a future beyond being a much-loved, short-lived show…
