Comments Off on GLEE’s Cory Monteith Dead at 31
Some sad news: GLEE star Cory Monteith (Finn) has passed away. He was 31.
Vancouver Acting Chief Doug LePard said in a statement that Monteith was found at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, and was discovered after he had missed his scheduled check-out. While there was no released cause of death — LePard stated there was an ongoing investigation — he noted “all indications are that there was no foul play.”
Monteith missed part of GLEE’s final episodes this past season to complete a stay in a rehabilitation center to treat substance addiction.
A very sad day, and condolences to his family, loved ones, coworkers, and fans.
Update: 20th Century Fox, Fox, and the GLEE producers have released this statement: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. Cory was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Kendrick Sampson and Olga Fonda to Recur

Back in April, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES boss Julie Plec hinted that the upcoming new season would feature some new characters, and now with THE ORIGINALS spinoff a reality, the show is making good on that tease: a CW rep has confirmed that Kendrick Sampson and Olga Fonda have been cast in recurring roles for season 5.
According to TVGuide.com (who was first to break the casting news), Sampson will play Jesse, a college student who crosses paths with Caroline and Elena. As for Fonda, she’ll play a “mysterious European beauty” who follows Matt and Rebekah back from their overseas adventure.
Which character sounds most intriguing to you?

When THE FOLLOWING season 1 concluded, things didn’t look so great for Claire Matthews: after being saved from her serial killer/cult leader ex-husband, Joe Carroll, Claire returned to the seemingly safety of her former boyfriend, Ryan’s home — only for both of them to get brutally attacked by one of Joe’s followers with a vendetta against Ryan.

THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW has nabbed its first big guest star: an NBC rep confirms that Anne Heche has booked a multi-episode arc on the new comedy.
According to EW.com (who was first to report the casting), Heche will play Susan Rodriguez-Jones, an anchor NBC 4 — the New York station where Fox’s character, Mike, will return to work — who has a history (and long-standing rivalry) with Mike.
Does Heche’s addition make you more intrigued about TMJF show?

Nate asks Allegra to get a message to Jeff if she makes it out alive. Jeff and Skye remain in hiding from the True Believers, now that Stuart knows that they know his true identity. Meanwhile, on the inside show, Billy has tracked Henry, the killer of Kelly and Meadow’s parents, and holds him captive. Kelly begins to unravel emotionally as she wrestles with unresolved feeling about her parents’ murders.
Jeff promises to help Skye keep looking for answers about her missing father. Nate convinces Jeff that they need to see this mystery through to its conclusion. The Cult production team prepares to film a live scene that will air online after the show’s season finale, but only the actors know how it will end. Meanwhile, on the inside show, Kelly follows a lead on the whereabouts of her parent’s killer, Henry and tracks him to hidden catacombs. There, Billy ambushes Kelly, and taunts her to kill Henry.

Comments Off on ONCE UPON A TIME: Giancarlo Esposito to Return
Giancarlo Esposito has been off ONCE UPON A TIME for a bit (thanks to his role on REVOLUTION), but an ABC rep confirms the actor will be making a guest appearance on the fantasy series in an early season 3 episode. (TVLine was first to report the casting.)
Aside from that, details about Esposito’s return are scarce — there’s no word on whether his appearance will be via flashback, etc.
But even with the vagueness, are you happy to have Esposito back on the ONCE UPON A TIME canvas?

HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT: Jane Lynch on Hosting a Game Show, Competitive Celebs, and More

Comments Off on HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT: Jane Lynch on Hosting a Game Show, Competitive Celebs, and More
Summer is the perfect time for fun, enjoyable, fluffy television, and that’s exactly what NBC’s new series, HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT is.
The series, hosted by GLEE’s Jane Lynch, pits two teams — three celebrities and one “civilian” player per team — against each other as they compete in various games created for the competition: trying to describe a TV show in as few words as possible, piecing together a celebrity timeline, identifying a song that has had its words replaced with the word “do,” and many more. And while Lynch doesn’t get to join in on the game-play during the show, she did get to try them out during rehearsals for the show.
“I do love playing the games; I love the games they’ve created,” Lynch told reporters on the set of HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT. “They’re not too intellectually stimulating, they’re all about pop culture…I’m pretty good at them. I’m pretty aggressive and shaming and I’m the person you want on your team, but you do not want to play against.”
For the very-busy Lynch (in addition to GLEE, she also hit Broadway this summer in ANNIE, and did a voice for the first season of the upcoming Fox animated series, MURDER POLICE), the opportunity to host HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT came as a bit of a surprise to her.

Pawnee is getting a noteable guest star next season: VERONICA MARS star Kristen Bell!
According to EW.com, Bell is set to play Ingrid, a snooty City Councilwoman from Eagleton, whom Leslie Knope will meet at a Pawnee-Eagleton high school basketball game in an upcoming episode.
“She’s Leslie’s equivalent, but richer and better dressed,” PARKS AND REC boss Michael Schur told the website.

ARROW: Summer Glau to Recur
July 10, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
Given ARROW season 1’s fixture as one of the most genre-tastic guest star list on all of television, it’s only fitting that season 2 is kicking off the same way: a rep for the show confirms that Whedonverse (and TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES) alumna Summer Glau has landed a recurring role on ARROW.
According to The Huffington Post, Glau will play Isabel Rochev, a woman described as “enigmatically beautiful and professionally dangerous”…it seems Isabel is the VP of Aquisitions of Stellmoor International, a company that is looking to take over Oliver’s family’s company, Queen Consolidated. Yikes.
Additionally, Isabel does have history in the “Green Arrow” comics, but the ARROW writers have been fairly firm about telling their own story. Who knows what details might match up, though?
Are you excited for Glau to come on ARROW?

We may not know the romantic status of CASTLE’s Beckett in season 6 (so, is she getting engaged or not?!), but her work life is seemingly about to get more complicated: an ABC rep confirms that former HOUSE star Lisa Edelstein has been tapped for a multi-episode arc as a federal investigator.
