SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Fox Boss Kevin Reilly Says They’ll Keep the One-Episode a Week Format, Is Hopeful for Another Season
August 3, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
As SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE whittles down its contestant pool, getting as much time to showcase the talented dancers becomes more of a priority. But, unfortunately, the show will be sticking with its one-episode-a-week, performance/results show hybrid for the rest of the season.
“I think we’re going to play out the pattern,” Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, told reporters after his Television Critics Association session earlier this week. “We’re not going to add [episodes] to it. In fact, I think condensing the format has worked very well. It’s a great show. But I don’t think building out on it will help.”
However, the news seems a little bit better when I asked him about the prospect of the show returning for another season.
“Oh, I hope so,” he replied. “I expect so.”
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE airs Tuesdays at 8 PM on Fox.
