HBO has ordered an adaptation of “The Leftovers” to series.

In THE LEFTOVERS — which will be run by former LOST boss Damon Lindelof — “The Rapture happens, but not quite like it’s supposed to. This is the story of the people who didn’t make the cut … and a world that will never be the same.”

The series (which has been ordered for a 10-episode first season) stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, Emily Meade, Amanda Warren, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Max Carver, Charlie Carver, Annie Q, Paterson Joseph, and Brad Leland.

Comments Off on DADS: Giovanni Ribisi, Martin Mull, Seth Green, and Peter Riegert Talk About Their New Fox Comedy

Fox is leading off its Tuesday night comedy block with a live-action offering from the minds behind TED (Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin, and Wellesley Wild) about two best friends (and business partners), whose lives get massively disrupted when their fathers come to live with them.

I recently sat down with DADS stars Giovanni Ribisi (Warner) and Martin Mull (Crawford), and Seth Green (Eli) and Peter Riegert (David) to get their take on the comedy…

Comments Off on SLEEPY HOLLOW: What You Need to Know About the New Fox Series

There are approximately one million new shows debuting this season*, and it’s going to get difficult to keep track of them all.

To help you out, for every new show, I’m going to basically create a hub of info on the day of the premiere — pilot photos, my quick take on the pilot (or what I’ve seen so far), what’s been written about it so far, and when you can watch it.

First up, SLEEPY HOLLOW…

Comments Off on BONES: What You Missed on Your Summer Vacation

A lot has gone down in the BONES world since the season finale aired: while the end of season 8 had things looking grim for Booth and Brennan, by Comic-Con, ‘shippers were once again delighted (if not a little surprised) by the news that B/B would get married in season 9.

And that’s not all that was revealed.

Take a look at everything you missed this summer, including photos from tonight’s season premiere, an episode tease, and all the links you’ll need to catch up…

Backstage at the Creative Arts Emmys 2013: Stories From Bob Newhart, Dan Bucatinsky, Carrie Preston, and More

Comments Off on Backstage at the Creative Arts Emmys 2013: Stories From Bob Newhart, Dan Bucatinsky, Carrie Preston, and More

While the Creative Arts Emmy winners got their time on stage to give their acceptance speeches (and you can watch the broadcast of the ceremony on FXX this Saturday), there’s always more to say, more light to shed on what it means to them, etc.

So, backstage, after their victories, many of the night’s winners talked with press…and they shared some lovely sentiments about the shows that got them an Emmy…

Melissa Leo (Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series, LOUIE)

The path for Leo's Emmy win for Guest Actress in a comedy series started, appropriately enough, when she attended the Emmys for the HBO "My son saw Louie out of the corner of his eye -- I had no idea who the guy was, but my son...said, 'Oh, Mom, I want to meet Louie C.K.' And he's never really done that, so I introduced my son to him...three weeks later, I heard he wanted to send me a script to do the show. So I think my son got it for me."

SLEEPY HOLLOW: The Cast and Producers Tease Bringing Ichabod Crane to 2013

Comments Off on SLEEPY HOLLOW: The Cast and Producers Tease Bringing Ichabod Crane to 2013

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” has been adapted many different ways over the years, but it’s hard to argue that any has been as daring as the new Fox series, SLEEPY HOLLOW: the show focuses on Ichabod Crane, who in this telling has mysteriously arrived in modern-day Sleepy Hollow…240-plus years after he was last conscious. Once in 2013, he has to team up with a cop, Abbie — who has her own reasons to keep a distance from him — to try and stop the Headless Horseman.

In trying to describe the show, it sounds absolutely crazy. But in execution, for me, it ended up being one of the most enjoyable pilots of the new season.

“It is a crazy idea, I think if those crazy ideas are done correctly, they’re the ones that really become something,” SLEEPY HOLLOW executive producer Mark Goffman noted. “The ideas that are not as crazy sometimes are just safe and boring. So if you take a crazy idea for something that’s almost a ridiculous concept, but if you take that ridiculous concept and turn it into something you can do correctly, I think you’ve got something really fun.”

Comments Off on BONES: Tamara Taylor Teases ‘The Secrets in the Proposal’

As Booth and Brennan struggle with their romantic — and work — tension in the BONES season premiere, the rest of the team has to figure out how to best help them. And while Cam has worked at the Jeffersonian with Brennan for years, her pre-show history with Booth gives her a perspective to the entire situation that no one else really has.

To dig a little deeper into that, I sat down with BONES star Tamara Taylor (Cam) to see what she could tease about “The Secrets in the Proposal”…

With only two more episodes left of DEXTER, you just know some big things are about to go down. Understandably, the people behind the show are a little tight-lipped about what’s to come, but stars C.S. Lee (Masuka) and James Remar (Harry), and executive producer Sara Colleton were able to tease a few things before this week’s PaleyFestPreviews panel for DEXTER’s final season…

Comments Off on ARROW: GLEE’s Grant Gustin Cast as Flash

ARROW has found its Barry Allen/Flash in former GLEE star Grant Gustin, a rep for the show confirms. Gustin has been booked for three episodes, one of which will be a backdoor pilot for a potentially new series.

Per the show’s official description of Barry, he is a “Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past.  A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.”
