Sure, you saw the touching — or weird — Emmy speeches during the live broadcast last night, but oftentimes the real fun (and the strangest comments) come when the winners come backstage and speak with the press.
Take a look what many of last night’s winners had to say, including a winner who took the time to plug another show, a (fake) 30 ROCK reunion pitch, weird Emmy statues plans, and more…

There are approximately one million new shows debuting this season*, and it’s going to get difficult to keep track of them all.
To help you out, for every new show, I’m going to basically create a hub of info on the day of the premiere — pilot photos, my quick take on the pilot (or what I’ve seen so far), what’s been written about it so far, and when you can watch it.
Next up, THE BLACKLIST…

Fall TV 2013: What I’m Watching

Premiere week officially kicks off today (yes, Fox debuted shows last week, and The CW doesn’t premiere its shows until October, but the vast majority of shows return this week), which means our DVRs are about to, well, explode.
I’m really curious about what you guys are planning on watching this fall, so in the interest of full disclosure, I also made a list of what I’m planning to watch/DVR/HuluPlus this season… (I starred the freshman shows I’m most likely to drop, so we’ll see how many of those are still on my schedule in a few months. Edit: And just to clarify, this is only network shows. There are a number of cable shows I’ll also be watching.)

There comes a point in any friendship when you need to step in after a friend gets in over their head. For the cast of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, they needed a HIMYM-appropriate intervention at last night’s Emmy awards for co-star Neil Patrick Harris about his Excessive Hosting Disorder issue.
Take a look!

More than two weeks ago, THE NEWSROOM star Jeff Daniels tweeted, “It’s official. #Newsroom coming back for a Season 3.” However, since then, HBO has yet to make an announcement that the series will return, despite the fact that the season 2 finale has already aired.
After Daniels won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series on Sunday, he reiterated that the show would be coming back — and that HBO had given him the okay to release the news.

CBS is trying something a little bit different this television season: HOSTAGES, a 15-episode serialized drama starring Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott, about a surgeon who is taken hostage with her family…right before she was scheduled to operate on the President of the United States. In theory, this is a show you might expect to see on a cable network, not CBS, which is known more for its procedural offerings.
To get a little bit of intel on how the show might work — and what’s to come — I spoke with HOSTAGES executive producers Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Rick Eid…

For CASTLE’s Martha, her family could be expanding in the upcoming season — last season ended with her son (that would be Richard Castle) proposing to his long-time partner/muse-turned-girlfriend, Beckett.
“It’s interesting to play a character like this, because she’s really a foil for her son,” Susan Sullivan (Martha) told me. “So whatever happens to him, happens to me…but you know, he’s with a woman, and [in the finale] they were having issues. He can’t be having issues with his mother, too.”

Comments Off on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: Wayne Brady Teases James’ Return
As HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER’s final season kicks off on Monday, September 23rd, it gets revealed that one long-time couple has split.
“The cat has been let out of the bag [in the press] that James is divorced, so now I’m looking for a man,” Wayne Brady (James) teased.
Of course, the timing of it could be better since the news of James’ split comes as his half-brother, Barney, is about to marry Robin.
