THE TOMORROW PEOPLE: What You Need to Know About the New The CW Series

October 9, 2013 by

There are approximately one million new shows debuting this season*, and it’s going to get difficult to keep track of them all.

To help you out, for every new show, I’m going to basically create a hub of info on the day of the premiere — pilot photos, my quick take on the pilot (or what I’ve seen so far), what’s been written about it so far, and when you can watch it.

Next up, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE…

*Maybe not scientifically correct. But close enough.

The CW’s description: “When Stephen Jameson (Robbie Amell) begins hearing voices and waking up in strange places, he starts to question his sanity.  In desperation, Stephen decides to listen to one of the voices in his head, and it leads him to his first encounter with the Tomorrow People — John (Luke Mitchell), Cara (Peyton List) and Russell (Aaron Yoo) — a genetically advanced race with the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathic communication.  The Tomorrow People inform him that they are being hunted down by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra, led by Dr. Jedikiah Price (Mark Pellegrino).  Meanwhile, Stephen gets another surprise that leads him down his own path, which he hopes will help him uncover the truth about his father’s (guest star Jeffrey Pierce, “Alcatraz”) mysterious disappearance.”

My take: There’s promise here. The pilot does a few things I didn’t entirely expect, but — and this isn’t the show’s fault — I’m a little wary about the show following in HEROES’ footsteps. I’ve only seen the pilot, so hopefully future episodes can wash the HEROES aftertaste out of my mouth.
