ONCE UPON A TIME: Colin O’Donoghue Teases Hook’s Backstory in ‘Good Form’
October 27, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
Tonight’s brand new episode of ONCE UPON A TIME explores Hook’s past, and his portrayer, Colin O’Donoghue, teased that fans might be thrown by what they discover.
“You get to see a side of Killian Jones that I think would surprise people,” O’Donoghue told reporters on set earlier this month. “And you sort of see a bit of backstory to him that is, I mean I can’t give away too much, but it’s really — I don’t think people will expect it.”
Of course, Hook is a bit of a mystery in present-day, too.
“He’s quite different [in Neverland],” O’Donoghue pointed out. “He’s struggling with whether or not he should try to become this new person or not and that’s difficult for him, because I think there’s a part of him that wants to try to do the right thing, but he’s been living with this hatred and revenge for hundreds of years, so it’s tough to let go of. That’s a real struggle for him.”
What do you think? Do you like this new Hook? Or did you prefer the one that was all about revenge?
ONCE UPON A TIME airs Sundays at 8 PM on ABC.
