ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND: Naveen Andrews on Reuniting with Former LOST Writers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, Plus Creating a New Take on Jafar

October 9, 2013 by
Filed under Once Upon a Time in Wonderland

ONCE UPON A TIME bosses (and former LOST writers) Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis have often relied on former LOST stars for guest spots (or in the case of Emilie de Ravin, a guest spot-turned-series regular gig), and with their new show, ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND, about to make its debut, they’ve called on a familiar face to be a series regular: Naveen Andrews (Sayid on LOST/Jafar on WONDERLAND)!

“Basically, it was like a ten minute meeting,” Andrews told me of how he got involved with the ONCE spinoff. “They told me they created this character, and they said, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if we got someone like Naveen to do it?’ We had worked together on LOST, and they had written one of my favorite episodes in the fifth season where Sayid is made to take LSD with interesting results [in “He’s Our You”]. And I was available, because I think when they first wrote it, I wasn’t.”

“So I went in and they said, ‘We wanted you to do it,'” he continued. “So it was literally ten minutes. Again, I felt very familiar and safe in terms of their writing. From the things they wrote in that fifth season, I knew they were willing to be daring and dangerous. I think we have a similar approach to Jafar in that sense.”

GLEE: Jane Lynch on the ‘Extremely Cathartic’ Tribute Episode to Cory Monteith

Comments Off on GLEE: Jane Lynch on the ‘Extremely Cathartic’ Tribute Episode to Cory Monteith

Over the summer, the GLEE family was dealt a massive blow when series star Cory Monteith (Finn) passed away from an accidental overdose. Given Finn’s — and Monteith’s — massive presence on the show, the series had no choice but to address his death (albeit, thankfully, in a vague, off-screen, manner), and in tomorrow’s brand new episode, the glee club will say goodbye to their quarterback.

“We all lost Finn Hudson and Cory Monteith,” GLEE star Jane Lynch (Sue) notes in the video below. “And like Cory Monteith, Finn Hudson was the quarterback, and he was the leader. And everybody looked up to him. Everybody. He was well loved..it was an extremely cathartic episode to film.”

Take a look at what else Lynch had to say about the episode…

Comments Off on THE TOMORROW PEOPLE: What You Need to Know About the New The CW Series

There are approximately one million new shows debuting this season*, and it’s going to get difficult to keep track of them all.

To help you out, for every new show, I’m going to basically create a hub of info on the day of the premiere — pilot photos, my quick take on the pilot (or what I’ve seen so far), what’s been written about it so far, and when you can watch it.

Next up, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE…

CBS Shakes Up Its Monday Lineup: WE ARE MEN Pulled, 2 Broke Girls to Air Earlier, MIKE & MOLLY to Return Early

October 9, 2013 by

CBS has opted to shake up its Monday lineup after its current HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER-WE ARE MEN-2 BROKE GIRLS-MOM block didn’t work out the way they hoped it would: starting next Monday, 2 BROKE GIRLS will move to 8:30 PM (replacing WE ARE MEN, which has been pulled from the lineup completely), and THE BIG BANG THEORY reruns will take its normally scheduled Monday at 9 PM slot. Then, starting on November 4th, MIKE & MOLLY will fill the 9 PM slot. MOM will remain at 9:30 PM.

Are you sad to lose WE ARE MEN? Will 2 BROKE GIRLS moving to 8:30 mess up your Monday night schedule? Or are you only watching CBS Mondays for HIMYM?

Comments Off on THE TOMORROW PEOPLE: Aaron Yoo Teases Russell’s Power and His Relationship with Stephen

In The CW’s THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, a portion of mankind has evolved beyond what normal humans can do. In fact, these “Tomorrow People” have some pretty nifty skills (telekinesis, teleportation and telepathy) that can assist them in many things…including trying to avoid Ultra, an organization that is trying to track them down.

On the show’s Vancouver set last week, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE star Aaron Yoo (Russell) — with some help from his dog, Merlin — teased to reporters what viewers can expect from his character’s power, and how his relationship with the newest member of Team Tomorrow People, Stephen (played by Robbie Amell) will develop…

ARROW is back in just a few short hours — are you excited?!

While we’ve already given you a ton of teases about what’s to come, how about a little more, courtesy of ARROW executive producer Andrew Kreisberg? Comments Off on BACK IN THE GAME: Maggie Lawson Shares Which PSYCH Co-Stars She’d Pick to Be Her On-Screen Ex

Maggie Lawson may have traded her PSYCH detective gear for her BACK IN THE GAME softball equipment, but her former show wasn’t far from her mind when she talked with reporters on the set of her new comedy last month.

Case in point? When she was prodded about who she might like to see as Terry Jr’s ex, she pointed to a few former PSYCH cast members as possible candidates…

FULL CIRCLE: David Boreanaz and Julian McMahon Preview the New DirecTV Series

Comments Off on FULL CIRCLE: David Boreanaz and Julian McMahon Preview the New DirecTV Series

DirecTV launches its newest series, FULL CIRCLE, today, and it’s really unlike anything else on television right now.

Each of the ten episodes is set during a meal between two people. However, the link for the series is that one person from each meal is a part of the following meal, until the series goes, appropriately, full circle back to one of the original meal partners. (For example, the first episode stars Tom Felton and Minka Kelly, episode two features Kelly and Julian McMahon, and so on, and so on until Felton appears in the show’s final episode.)

Two of the actors involved in the experimental series, David Boreanaz (Jace) and Julian McMahon (Stanley) talked with reporters about what drew them to the show, tease their storylines, and more…

CBS Makes Its Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry Pilot, SUPER CLYDE, Available to Stream

Comments Off on CBS Makes Its Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry Pilot, SUPER CLYDE, Available to Stream

Last pilot season Greg Garcia was involved with two comedy pilot: THE MILLERS, a multi-cam show starring Will Arnett, Margo Martindale, and Beau Bridges that ended up getting picked up, and SUPER CLYDE, a single-cam comedy about a wannabe super hero starring Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry that ultimately was passed on. And while Garcia was thrilled THE MILLERS got picked up, when he and I spoke over the summer about his new comedy, he told me at the time he had hopes that one day the pilot for SUPER CLYDE would be made available for people to see.

“I still love it, I’m so proud of it,” Garcia told me at the time. “But the other one got picked. And I love this one. So there’s no losing, but it is a bummer. I was asking if we can try to get [the pilot] on somewhere. It’s got Stephen Fry who’s amazing. It’s got Rupert Grint. It’s got a built-in fanbase for these people. Let’s put it on Netflix, let’s put it on iTunes, I just want some people to see it, because I’m proud of it.”

And now, people can: CBS has made the pilot available on their website to stream.

I’m very curious, will you be giving it a shot, even with knowing it wasn’t picked up and that will almost certainly be it? Or are you going to pass on watching it?
