About Last Night…ALMOST HUMAN, SLEEPY HOLLOW, THE VOICE, and More
December 10, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
A relatively calm TV night. Let’s talk about what aired!
ALMOST HUMAN: The hour made me feel things in a way the show hadn’t since its second hour, “Skin.” I loved the insight we got into Maldonado, and the little smile at the end when the DA acknowledged how nice she looked broke my heart a little bit — all she wanted was someone to notice her. And how freaking cool was the tech in the episode? First of all, I love the idea of being able to project myself somewhere without actually having to leave my home. How delightful they were able to use that tech to trick the clones into releasing Valerie? Awesome. That’s what makes a show set in 2048 fun — you can plausibly pull off things like that. So beautiful that Dorian was able to help Maya reconnect with her dead parents. His compassion for the people connected with the cases the team is solving is just beautiful. (Um, and I had never thought about Dorian’s anatomy, but that scene had me laughing out loud.)
Also, are we taking bets on how long it is before something happens between Kennex and Valerie? At this rate, it can’t be later than the end of the season, right?
THE VOICE: I think it’s really tough to cut two competitors at this stage of the show — losing 40% of the singers is brutal when you’re this close to the finale. Going to be an interesting results night.
SLEEPY HOLLOW: There’s an unwritten rule that John Noble makes everything better (someone should get to making it official somewhere…), and that’s proven true in both of his SLEEPY HOLLOW episodes. How tragic for Ichabod to learn about his son, only for him just as quickly to learn that his son was miserable, created a Golem, and died as a young man? The pain really never stops, does it? But it was cute he got to learn about Christmas — and Abbie got him a stocking!
But…what the heck is going on with Irving? I have questions!
HOSTAGES: Eh. Ellen flip-flopping again bores me a bit. It makes sense alliances are shifting as the show gets closer to the finale, but it feels like at this point, the mindset while watching should be that everyone will screw everyone over and don’t expect any loyalty anywhere. Ever. And that drains some of the interest for me.

So many Irving and Jeremy questions!! I’m sure they’ll answer a lot of them — that’s one of the things I love about the show — they actually give us answers (and usually pretty cool ones at that).
Ah, but we know that when (if) Kennex and Valerie hook up his ex will be back, right?
@R: Hopefully Anna comes back before then!
