ARROW: 8 Teases About ‘The Promise’

Slade and Oliver have finally come face-to-face in the present time on ARROW, which means, of course, major things are going down in tonight’s new episode, “The Promise.”

I had the chance to screen the hour early, and while I don’t want to ruin things, there are a few things I can tease about will go down…

• While there are important scenes set in the present, a good chunk of the hour is set in flashbacks.
• Dr. Ivo has a particularly effective (non-violent) way of trying to get the truth out of Oliver.
• Island!Oliver gets a visit from a (dead) friend.
• There is a significant turning point in the Oliver and Slade relationship on the island.
• The hour is incredibly action-packed.
• When Oliver realizes the scope of the danger he’s in, he sends out a clever distress signal.
• As you might suspect, Slade’s visit to the Queen home was planned for more than one reason.
• That title? “The Promise”? Yeah, it’s important.
