As ARROW’s Oliver Queen has had his world fall apart (thanks to Slade’s increasingly devious moves), his off-on love, Laurel, has rebounded nicely after hitting her own rock bottom — and now that Laurel has revealed to Oliver that she knows he’s also the Arrow, she has positioned herself to help him take down Slade, too.
To get a tease about what’s to come, I spoke with Katie Cassidy (Laurel) about the huge episodes coming up, getting to do a bit of action work, Laurel’s love for Oliver, and more…

MULANEY — a new multi-cam comedy for Fox about “a rising stand-up comic trying to take his career to the next level and the friends and mentors who lift him up, hold him back and push him around” — may not have debuted one episode yet, but the network is already showing a vote of confidence in it: Fox has ordered 10 additional episodes of the series, bringing its season 1 episode order up to 16.
MULANEY joins already ordered comedies LAST MAN ON EARTH (starring Will Forte), and WEIRD LONERS (starring Becki Newton), and dramas EMPIRE, RED BAND SOCIETY, GOTHAM, HIEROGLYPH, and BACKSTROM.

NBC has ordered three new shows for the 2014-2015 season: MARRY ME (a comedy from HAPPY ENDINGS creator David Caspe and starring Casey Wilson), STATE OF AFFAIRS (starring former GREY’S ANATOMY star Katherine Heigl), and ALLEGIANCE (about a CIA analyst who discovers his parents are former Russian spies).

Fox Orders EMPIRE and RED BAND SOCIETY to Series
May 6, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under Empire, Red Band Society, TV News
Fox has ordered two more shows to series: EMPIRE and RED BAND SOCIETY.
EMPIRE stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, and is described as a “unique family drama set in the world of a hip-hop empire that will feature both original and current music.”
RED BAND SOCIETY, starring Octavia Spencer, is described as “a diverse group of teenagers become unlikely allies and friends in this unconventional and, at times, comic high school drama, set in the pediatric wing of a hospital. This is one of the most ambitious and unorthodox shows in anyone’s development this year. It represents a completely inspired way into young soap, a comedic one-hour, a hospital show, and a (surrogate) family drama.
They join GOTHAM, BACKSTROM, and HIEROGLYPH as new additions to Fox’s lineup for the 2014-2015 season.
Do either of these shows intrigue you?

Now that SLEEPY HOLLOW is back in production, we have our first new casting news of the season: THE WEST WING’s Timothy Busfield will recur as Benjamin Franklin in the show’s upcoming second season, a rep for the show has confirmed.
“Benjamin Franklin is great because we are all familiar with so many of his contributions and now we get to pull back the veil a bit,” SLEEPY HOLLOW showrunner Mark Goffman told EW.com. (EW was first to report the casting.) “This man founded the printing press and was responsible for so many [innovations] and now we find out he’s involved in this secret war and that Crane had a relationship with him. I’ve read several biographies of Franklin and we’re teeing off on some of his precociousness and eccentricities.”
Are you excited to see Crane and Ben Franklin interact in SLEEPY HOLLOW’s second season?
