It’s official: Fox has ordered the Ben McKenzie-led GOTHAM to series.

While the new Fox series is set in the Batman universe, it will actually be a prequel series that follows a young James Gordon (McKenzie) and also serves as an origin story for some of the infamous villains from the DC Universe.

The cast includes Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), Jada Pinkett Smith (Fish Mooney), David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth), and Zabryna Guevara (Captain Essen).

SALEM Renewed for Season 2

SALEM, WGN America’s first scripted series, has been renewed, WGN America announced.

“At WGN America, we are committed to delivering compelling, brand-defining programming rich with fascinating characters and ‘Salem’ has done just that,” said Matt Cherniss, President and General Manager, WGN America and Tribune Studios in a statement. “[Co-creators] Brannon Braga, Adam Simon, the talented cast and our great partners at Fox 21 have opened up an intriguing world that has captivated viewers. We look forward to bringing more great storytelling, scares and surprises to viewers as the saga unfolds.”

“I could not be more thrilled or more proud of our cast, writers and crew who made this show come alive,” said Braga. “The fans have been fantastic and we plan to continue keeping them on the edge of their seats.”

The 13-episode second season will go into production in later this year for a TBD 2015 debut.

Fans only have a month left to wait before ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK season 2 debuts on Netflix, but there’s another reason to celebrate: the show has been renewed for a third season, a rep for Netflix has confirmed.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK star Laura Prepon (Alex) first revealed the news via Twitter/Instagram.
