BONES creator Hart Hanson has a bit of experience adapting a book series into a successful/long-running TV series, and this season, he’ll try to work that mojo again with his new show: BACKSTROM, a new Fox procedural (starring THE OFFICE’s Rainn Wilson), which is based off a book series with the same name by Leif G.W. Persson.
Check out some photos from the pilot, cast pictures, the network’s official description, and a trailer…

There are a lot of exciting shows coming up next season for Fox, but the reality of the industry is that with all those new additions, a whole bunch of shows had to die.
On today’s conference call with reporters, Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), was asked particularly about the decision to cancel ALMOST HUMAN and SURVIVING JACK, whose ratings were comparable (or better) than shows that were picked up. This is what Reilly said:

GLEE will be heading into its final season next year, but when the fall Fox schedule was released, the series was MIA. But there is a bright side to waiting a bit for more GLEE: according to what Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) told reporters on a conference call today, “When it comes back in the second half of the season…[they will] air all their episodes in a row.”
But how many episodes the final season will consist of is slightly up in the air.
SLEEPY HOLLOW Season 2 Will Have 18 Episodes

SLEEPY HOLLOW’s second season is going to be 18 episodes, Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), confirmed on a conference call with reporters.
“Last year, SLEEPY HOLLOW, in its first season, was making mini-movies every week,” Reilly pointed out. “It was a big show. We stopped when we felt we could put out a creatively excellent product. I think the show ended on a high note, as opposed to teasing it out for six or nine episodes, and having it barely hold together, and having a lot of repeats to get there.
“The other part of it is SLEEPY HOLLOW has now been back in series production for already a month for [season 2],” he continued. “Next year, our order on SLEEPY HOLLOW is 18 episodes. We will have almost all 18 in a row. They are now in series production a good two months before just about any returning drama on television. The show is going to be really, really strong.”
Are you excited to get more SLEEPY HOLLOW next season?
