When the fall television season kicks off, fans of Fox’s animated shows will get a huge treat: the long-awaited official crossover between THE SIMPSONS and FAMILY GUY! (That’s not counting the nods, digs, and little cameos the shows have had over the years.)

Because of the production schedule for animated series, the stars of both shows have recorded their voice-overs for the episode. For fans who have been anxiously anticipating the event, it’s is an extra bit of good news, because when I caught up with FAMILY GUY star Alex Borstein (Lois) and THE SIMPSONS star Yeardley Smith (Lisa) at the recent Girls’ Night Out event, they were able to tease a bit of what will be going down when the Simpsons and Griffins meet up…

Alex Borstein:

Yeardley Smith:

The FAMILY GUY-THE SIMPSONS crossover will air this fall on Fox.

It seems to me that this may not be an award-winner, but will definitely be quite entertaining to watch. If it gets negative reviews, then I’ll only want to watch it even more. Reason being? The internet hates everything. People bash mcfarlane, groening, and sandler like internet memes- they think they’re saying something new and original that’ll have an impact, but they are not. At this point, comments that read: “Unfunny,” “needs to retire” or threaten the shows creator should be regarded as spam. Neither show is as funny as they used to be, but they still accomplish comedy’s #1 purpose- helping us approach what makes life suck with laughter.
