Comments Off on THE MINDY PROJECT Season 3: Beth Grant and Xosha Roquemore Tease the Premiere

THE MINDY PROJECT’s season 2 finale — which concluded with Danny and Mindy finally getting together (together-together, unlike their brief coupledom earlier in the season) — was adorable/romantic/hilarious, and fans weren’t the only ones who felt that way.

“I have never been so satisfied with a show in my life as [I was with] our finale,” THE MINDY PROJECT’s Beth Grant (Beverly) shared in the video below.

So what comes next? Grant and co-star Xosha Roquemore (Tamra) tease season 3 (Morgan/Tamra! Disturbing insights into Beverly!), the improv freedom they have on the show, and more…

Comments Off on THE SIMPSONS Season 26 Premiere: ‘Clown in the Dumps’ Photos

There has been a lot of talk about what goes down in THE SIMPSONS’ 26th season premiere — in case you haven’t heard, a character will be killed off — and while the season premiere images don’t entirely spell it out, the combination of those plus the title (“Clown in the Dumps”) hint fairly strongly who will be kicking the bucket.

Check out what the photos tease…

NEW GIRL Season 4: Hannah Simone and Lamorne Morris (Adorably) Tease the Premiere

new-girl-season-4-featured

After three-plus season working together, NEW GIRL stars Hannah Simone (Cece) and Lamorne Morris (Winston)’s off-screen chemistry may seem like an act, but as they assure in the video below, it’s not — they are just genuinely silly together. (And manage to be ridiculously adorable/hilarious in the process.)

In fact, the duo quickly embraced their goofy side/lack of filter from the second the camera started recording: from Morris borrowing my sunglasses and the two taking selfies together, to coming up with a little ditty/jig to celebrate season premiere guest star Jessica Biel, they were able to deliver a fun, um, tease for how NEW GIRL season 4 kicks off…

Comments Off on ‘We Have Thoughts’ Vodcast: Danielle and Marisa on ABC’s BLACK-ISH and SELFIE

Fall TV is practically here, and there are a lot of new shows on tap. And, unfortunately, a lot of them aren’t great.

But there are some gems in the mix. And so to help you distinguish the gems from the duds, my friend/vodcast partner Danielle Turchiano and I took on each network’s lineup to pick our favorite pilots. (And we didn’t always agree with each other, either.)

First up? ABC…

THE SIMPSONS at the Hollywood Bowl: Photos

Comments Off on THE SIMPSONS at the Hollywood Bowl: Photos

simpsons-bowlTHE SIMPSONS took over the Hollywood Bowl this weekend, and when I had the chance to go to the show on Friday night, the experience was pretty magical.

As you might expect, the performances were incredible (my favorite numbers included the first public performance of “Happy Birthday, Lisa” by Kipp Lennon and SIMPSONS star Nancy Cartwright (Bart); Cartwright and fellow SIMPSONS star Yeardley Smith (Lisa) singing “Minimum Wage Nanny”; the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles’ medley (which included “Spider-Pig” and “Stonecutters Song”; and Hank Azaria’s (Apu) “Who Needs the Kwik-E-Mart?”), but what was almost equally impressive was how much care was put into making the entire Hollywood Bowl SIMPSONS-friendly.

Not only were the ushers wearing Sideshow Bob hair (it was fabulously weird), and many of the women in the orchestra had on Marge wigs, but there was a SIMPSONS mural painted on one of the walls, there were cardboard cutouts of characters all over the Bowl (many with sayings appropriate for the weekend’s festivities), Duff “beer” was at the concession stand windows, and more. The attention to detail — and making the experience truly something fans would appreciate — was incredibly impressive.

I’m sure I missed a few of nerdy touches, but I took some photos of the things around the Bowl that stood out the most to me…

Taraji P. Henson on PERSON OF INTEREST Fan Love, and Her New Show, EMPIRE Providing a ‘Role That Actors Wait a Lifetime For’

September 12, 2014 by
Filed under Empire, Person of Interest

Taraji P. Henson has kept busy during her nearly two decades of acting — including an Oscar nomination for her role in THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON — but she admitted to me she’s still a little shocked by the sheer amount fan love she’s received from her time playing Joss Carter on CBS’ PERSON OF INTEREST.

“Isn’t that something?” Henson asked. “It blows me away. And it reminds me of why I got into acting; I do this because I feel like God gave me a gift. My father always said if you’re blessed, you have to go out into the world and be a blessing. I get to touch people and give them a cathartic experience. Or let them see a little bit of themselves. Or see somebody who needs help. So when I get this feedback from people saying Carter has touched their lives, I get goosebumps and I get emotional. Because that’s all I want to do. That’s why I do what I do.”

And while Henson knew Carter’s tragic demise was coming, what she didn’t realize was how much her exit would rock fans.

Comments Off on RED BAND SOCIETY: Mandy Moore to Recur

mandy-mooreSinger/actress Mandy Moore will be checking in to the new coming-of-age drama, RED BAND SOCIETY, Fox announced.

Moore will recur as Dr. Erin Grace, Chief of Staff at Ocean Park Hospital (where the series is centered). Oh, and she’s also Dr. McAndrew’s (Dave Annable) ex-fiancée. (Awkward.)

RED BAND SOCIETY follows the adventures of the patients of the pediatric ward of Ocean Park Hospital, and the doctors/nurses who take care of them. The series also stars Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer (who plays Nurse Jackson).

Are you excited to see Moore on RED BAND SOCIETY?

RED BAND SOCIETY premieres Wednesday, September 17th at 9 PM on Fox.

USA Network will kick off the sixth and final season of WHITE COLLAR on Thursday, November 6th at 9 PM, the network announced.

“From its inception, WHITE COLLAR captured a massive and loyal following, in large part due to the incredible on-screen chemistry between Matt [Bomer] and Tim [DeKay], who deserve credit for one of the most brilliantly performed ‘bromances’ in all of television,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network in a statement. “The series also benefited from smart writing and an extraordinarily talented supporting cast, who helped it become a fan favorite crime drama for five straight years. This season will not disappoint, with an exciting and shocking ending that fans will never forget.”

From even before the UTOPIA participants stepped foot on the show’s compound, drama has surrounded so much of what has gone down.

And things haven’t let up. Tonight’s episode will introduce two potential new UTOPIAns into the world…and an original contestant will opt to leave the compound.

I spoke with UTOPIA narrator Dan Piraro about how fast things have been moving in real-life, and how the show is keeping up…
