3. Doctor Who: 'Death in Heaven'
The eighth season of DOCTOR WHO came together in its finale, which was everything that this show is capable of at its best — a number of big ideas packaged in intimate character moments. Danny’s devotion to Clara considered the act, as opposed to the emotion, of love. Clara and the Doctor’s well-intentioned lies did the same. The Doctor finally defined himself not as a hero, but as a man just passing through, learning, and helping people as he goes. It was heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time, and I wouldn’t want this show any other way.
