14. Penny Dreadful
PENNY DREADFUL took a brilliant cast of actors and invited them to play Gothic literary figures who weren’t supposed to interact with each other, but who found each other anyway. How could I resist? Eva Green took hold of every line she had, and the cinematography was gorgeous. In the spirit of the novels that inspired it, PENNY DREADFUL was suspenseful, often shocking, and always entertaining.
