Marisa’s Top 14 Episodes of 2014
December 24, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
For my top episodes of the year, I did something different this year: I didn’t let myself choose anything from my top shows of 2014. There are certainly shows there that could (and maybe should) have installments listed here, but considering how much television I watch, I wanted to expand the field of shows versus just going over (again) why I loved the top shows.
The following episodes aren’t ranked (they’re listed alphabetically), but I did note which one would have been number one if I had gone that route…
The Big Bang Theory: 'The Proton Transmogrification'
On the surface, it seemed like "The Proton Transmogrification" was going to just be a STAR WARS-themed episode. And sure, it was, but it also dealt with the death of Arthur/Professor Proton. The show paid homage to STAR WARS by having Arthur come to Sheldon in dream, and he's dressed like Obi-Wan -- and Arthur reluctantly gives advice to Sheldon, noting he needs to appreciate the people around him. The quiet, but meaningful hug Sheldon gave Leonard after he wakes up from the dream was beautiful, especially since so much of their relationship/friendship is based on condensing and sarcasm.
And have you seen Sarah and Kelly’s lists, too? Check out Sarah’s top shows and top episodes, as well as Kelly’s top shows and top episodes.
