Marisa’s Top 14 Episodes of 2014
December 24, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
For my top episodes of the year, I did something different this year: I didn’t let myself choose anything from my top shows of 2014. There are certainly shows there that could (and maybe should) have installments listed here, but considering how much television I watch, I wanted to expand the field of shows versus just going over (again) why I loved the top shows.
The following episodes aren’t ranked (they’re listed alphabetically), but I did note which one would have been number one if I had gone that route…
BONES: 'Big in the Philippines'
There were certainly episodes that were hyped more this year for BONES (and "The Nail in the Coffin" and "The Lance to the Heart" were also contenders for this spot, in my mind), but the quiet heartbreak of "Big in the Philippines" is the episode that ended up captivating me the most. The case was solid (a musician was struggling locally, but was a success in the Philippines…yet not making money for it), but the real draw was Brennan discovering after Wendell breaks his arm too easily that he has cancer. Most of the squinterns have solid relationships with the regular characters are this point, but Wendell is unique in that his friendship with Booth is something none of the other recurring characters have. Emily Deschanel (Brennan), David Boreanaz (Booth), and Michael Grant Terry (Wendell) all shone as B&B sat down to tell Wendell the reason for his injury.
And have you seen Sarah and Kelly’s lists, too? Check out Sarah’s top shows and top episodes, as well as Kelly’s top shows and top episodes.
