Marisa’s Top 14 Episodes of 2014
December 24, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
For my top episodes of the year, I did something different this year: I didn’t let myself choose anything from my top shows of 2014. There are certainly shows there that could (and maybe should) have installments listed here, but considering how much television I watch, I wanted to expand the field of shows versus just going over (again) why I loved the top shows.
The following episodes aren’t ranked (they’re listed alphabetically), but I did note which one would have been number one if I had gone that route…
Raising Hope: 'The Father Daughter Dance'
RAISING HOPE didn't know (for sure) "The Father Daughter Dance" would be the series finale, but showrunner Mike Mariano opted to play it safe and give the show closure in case it was. What fans got was Virginia getting her dream wedding -- and Kenny Loggins performing for them. The show did a brilliant job at juxtaposing Loggins singing "Danny's Song" in the series finale with flashbacks from the pilot of Virginia (Martha Plimpton) singing the same song. The series was underrated for most of its run, but it felt fitting it went out on a quieter note, simply showing how much (and how little) had changed during the show's four season run.
And have you seen Sarah and Kelly’s lists, too? Check out Sarah’s top shows and top episodes, as well as Kelly’s top shows and top episodes.
