PERSON OF INTEREST took the Samaritan/Machine war to the next step in the final episode of 2014, as the duo sat down to have a chat (using Root and a small child as their mouthpieces), and then Samaritan set to take out arguably its biggest target: the stock exchange.
With a move that big, the war between the machines can’t stay quiet for much longer. To get a hint of what’s to come, I spoke with PERSON OF INTEREST star Amy Acker (Root) about the fallout from the machines’ showdown, and what the heck comes next…

DAWSON’S CREEK, LIFE UNEXPECTED, and Beyond: Liz Tigelaar Reflects on Her Writing Career (So Far)

Comments Off on DAWSON’S CREEK, LIFE UNEXPECTED, and Beyond: Liz Tigelaar Reflects on Her Writing Career (So Far)
Television writer and executive producer Liz Tigelaar has had a fascinating career — fascinating enough to warrant sitting down with and talking in depth about its trajectory and the various lessons she has learned along the way.
Tigelaar got her start in the writer’s room of DAWSON’S CREEK, a dream project for many television fans and writers of a certain age who wanted to work on relationship dramas. That first show immediately set the tone for her career and her niche. She went from there to shows like AMERICAN DREAMS, WHAT ABOUT BRIAN, and BROTHERS & SISTERS before creating her own beloved — but sadly short-lived — family drama LIFE UNEXPECTED on The CW.
And it was after the cancellation of LIFE UNEXPECTED that things got really interesting, though. Tigelaar signed an overall deal with ABC Studios and ended up making the rounds on some of their highest profile dramas before doing a stint with A&E, and, oh, at times she was pulling double duty preparing her own pilot, too. Tigelaar went from being the boss — the person who created the world of the show and knew it inside and out — to working in a room on a show whose world had been established before she came aboard. Many writers who had already achieved what she had might have balked at the idea of working for someone else again, but Tigelaar not only took the opportunity but welcomed it to grow even further.
“So much of the external success — getting your show picked up, selling pilots — it’s all such a matter of someone else’s taste and of their perception of you. Those are really the things you can’t control,” Tigelaar said. “I mean, I feel very fortunate that The CW put LIFE UNEXPECTED on. Of course I was really disappointed they canceled it, but they put it on and gave it two seasons and it was an amazing opportunity. But by no means do I think because I ran that show that I don’t have anything more to learn about writing or show running! I feel like if anything probably running a show shows you how much you have to learn.”

Comments Off on FRIENDS: Netflix Has Marathon Suggestions for the Show’s January 1st Streaming Launch
FRIENDS is coming to Netflix on January 1st, and it’s never too early to start planning potential marathons, right?
While some people might dive into the show in order (especially if they’re newbies), the potential themed marathons are endless. Thanksgiving episodes are an easy way to go. So are the other various (though not as frequent) holiday installments. You could go by big relationship episodes, or ones where the various families play a bigger role.
Thankfully, Netflix has thought of some marathon potentials on their own, and created a nifty little graphic (in an homage to the New York subway system*) of some routes you can take…

Comments Off on THE WRONG MANS Exclusive Artwork: Sam and Phil Channel Their Inner BREAKING BAD
We’re just one week away from the Hulu debut of THE WRONG MANS’ complete second season, and to celebrate that, Give Me My Remote has an exclusive piece of artwork representing the third episode of the upcoming four-episode season.
In case you missed the first season of THE WRONG MANS (which is currently available on Hulu, so you should go check it out), Sam (Mathew Baynton) ended up on an adventure after he found a cell phone in the wreckage of a car crash and answered a ransom call. The fallout from that led to Sam and his co-worker, Phil (James Corden) going on a crazy adventure where they attempted to save the woman who was being held hostage, and ended up in the middle of a crazy conspiracy.
Hulu has created some great art to represent the upcoming four-episode second season, and last week, we debuted the artwork from the second episode, and today, we’ve got a photo representing episode 3, “Action Mans.”
