Bravo is debuting its first scripted series, GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE, tonight, and not only is it filled with people whom television fans will recognize (the series stars HOUSE’s Lisa Edelstein, PRIVATE PRACTICE’s Paul Adelstein, 24’s Janeane Garofalo, RAKE’s Necar Zadegan, and CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR’s Beau Garrett) and written by Marti Noxon (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, PRIVATE PRACTICE, GLEE), but it’s also a genuinely amusing/touching show. (I’ve had the chance to watch the first two episodes.)
Earlier this year, I visited the show’s Vancouver set, and Edelstein and Adelstein spoke with reporters about their new Bravo series…

Comments Off on NBC Sets Premiere Date — and Finale — For PARKS AND RECREATION’s Final Season
Some bittersweet PARKS AND RECREATION news: NBC has set both its season premiere and series finale dates.
The final season will kick off on Tuesday, January 13th at 8 PM with back-to-back episodes. The show will continue that pattern until it concludes with an hour-long series finale on Tuesday, February 24th, following THE VOICE.
“Mike Schur and Amy Poehler, along with their incredible producers, cast, and crew, have given us one of the great television comedies of all time, and we’re inordinately proud of ‘Parks and Recreation,’” said NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt in a statement. “In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to ‘eventize’ the final season to maximize the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level. The highly-anticipated one-hour finale will air behind ‘The Voice’ in order to lead the largest audience possible into what promises to be a very special hour of television.”
“Critics, viewers and all of us at NBC fell in love with this endearing, funny, heartfelt show and its authentic cast of characters,” added Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “After seven amazing seasons, saying goodbye to the folks of Pawnee will be bittersweet, so we want to give the show and its fans the most impactful final season possible.”

THE FLASH-ARROW Crossover: Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, and Andrew Kreisberg Tease ‘Flash vs. Arrow’

Comments Off on THE FLASH-ARROW Crossover: Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, and Andrew Kreisberg Tease ‘Flash vs. Arrow’
THE FLASH and ARROW have been loosely tied together since Barry Allen debuted on ARROW a year ago, but this week, the dramas embark on a full-on crossover as Team Arrow visits THE FLASH in “Flash vs. Arrow,” while Team Flash pops over on ARROW during “The Brave and the Bold.”
“The best thing you can do is it’s not just a gimmick,” ARROW/THE FLASH executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told reporters earlier this season. “[These crossovers are] also advancing the storylines that we’ve been telling and your characters really grow…both of these crossovers, they’re not just about the crossovers of the cast — they are really important episodes for what Barry has been going through, and what Oliver’s going through. We have one of the biggest surprises of ARROW of all time on THE FLASH episode [of the crossover]. And both episodes are really important for Barry’s growth.”
“It was fun to have the dynamic back from when I was [first] on ARROW a year ago,” THE FLASH star Grant Gustin (Barry) added. “That was when I met Barry, and he was so fun and awkward, and the dynamic between him and Oliver was so fun. And we got to recreate that. And it’s evolved. It’s really different than anything else on the show, which is nice.”
For more on the crossover, Gustin and ARROW star Stephen Amell (Oliver) teased a few more secrets while speaking with reporters on the shows’ Vancouver sets…
RED BAND SOCIETY Will Have a Shortened First Season

Comments Off on RED BAND SOCIETY Will Have a Shortened First Season
RED BAND SOCIETY’s first season will only be 13 episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While that might not be a massive surprise (the show has been struggling in the ratings), what is surprising is that, as of now, only 10 of the 13 filmed episodes are scheduled to air. (Tonight’s hour is the 9th, and then one episode is planned for next week.)
Where the remaining episodes might go — if they end up on the Fox schedule — is a bit of a mystery. The 2015 lineup right now is pretty packed, and RBS’ regular time slot will be occupied by EMPIRE in 2015.

CASTLE Scoop: Former ONE LIFE TO LIVE Star Kamar de los Reyes to Guest Star

CASTLE is staging a mini-ONE LIFE TO LIVE reunion: a rep for CASTLE has confirmed that Kamar de los Reyes (who played Antonio on ONE LIFE TO LIVE) will guest star on an upcoming episode of the drama series. The guest spot reunites him with CASTLE star Nathan Fillion (Castle), who appeared on OLTL as Joey. (And the duo’s time on the daytime drama overlapped in the mid-90s.)
De los Reyes will appear in the 12th episode of CASTLE’s current season as Manuel Villalobos, “a charismatic Latin telenovela star”…and a friend of the victim of the week. The still-untitled episode will air in early 2015.

You know when it’s probably not the best time to squabble with a coworker about their sex life? When you’re about to interview someone for a case.
Unfortunately, STALKER’s Ben didn’t quite get that memo, and in this exclusive clip from tonight’s brand new episode, “Crazy For You,” he tries to exert a bit of power in his dynamic with Jack…who instantly pings that Ben is acting that way because of Jack’s tryst with Janice. Awkward.

ONCE UPON A TIME: Georgina Haig on Wearing Elsa’s Dress, and Being Like Santa to Children
November 26, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Once Upon A Time
Georgina Haig (Elsa) has easily fit into the ONCE UPON A TIME family, but as surreal as it might be for some FROZEN fans to see the character come to life on the ABC drama, Haig admitted the magic wasn’t lost on her the first time she saw Elsa’s trademark dress, either.
“I was in the costume department and the crazy thing was they had made this dress based on not knowing who was gonna be cast,” Haig recalled while speaking to reporters on the show’s Vancouver set. “Because that’s how fast they have to work — I only got cast a week before we were shooting and obviously it’s quite a complex dress, they had to start it earlier than that. So anyway, I got in it and they kind of pinned it all in and it was just kinda magic seeing it. Because… I don’t know! It’s so beautiful and it’s real crystals and it’s right out of the cartoon, you know, as well. They modeled it so precisely, which is very difficult to make something a human can move in that is coming off a cartoon. That’s not easy. Yeah, so I was just kinda in awe of the whole department when I put it on and they’ve just kinda improved it more and more. They’ve changed the shape of the corset and… yeah. treacherous. They had to replicate this fabric, so they had to get it all hand-beaded in LA. I think [costume designer] Eduardo [Castro] calls it ‘the treacherous dress’ because it is an amazing amount of work, a lot of people go into making this dress.”
Of course, as gorgeous as the dress is, Haig acknowledged that its practicality is rather limited.
