Report: Amazon Cancels Chris Carter’s THE AFTER
January 5, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
THE AFTER, THE X-FILES creator Chris Carter’s new series for Amazon, will not move forward with its planned first season, Variety reports.
The drama — which focused on a group of strangers who bonded during a mysterious event — was originally set to start production on the rest of season 1 in October 2014. (The pilot debuted last February on Amazon’s streaming site.)
In a statement to Variety, Amazon VP Roy Price confirmed they had parted with the series, “We have decided to not move forward with THE AFTER. We would like to thank Chris Carter, the phenomenal cast, crew and producers for all their efforts.”
THE AFTER had been set to star Aldis Hodge, Andrew Howard, Arielle Kebbel, Sharon Lawrence, Louise Monot, Jania Lee Ortiz, and Adrian Pasdar.
