GOTHAM’s Kristin Kringle has found herself the (reluctant) object of Edward Nygma’s affection.
Poor Edward has been desperate for anyone to pay him any sort of attention, and for better or worse (knowing Nygma’s ultimate fate, it’s probably the latter), his co-worker, Kristin, is his current fixation.
I spoke with Chelsea Spack (Kristin Kringle) about her character’s complicated relationship with Edward…

GOTHAM: Robin Lord Taylor on the Power Counterbalance Between Fish and Penguin

Comments Off on GOTHAM: Robin Lord Taylor on the Power Counterbalance Between Fish and Penguin
GOTHAM is undergoing a change of power.
Fish took a big risk by “kidnapping” Liza, a woman Falcone was very fond of (whom Fish had planted in Falcone’s life). Unfortunately for her, Penguin informed Falcone it was all a ruse, and Fish’s life is now in danger…and Penguin suddenly has more power than ever.
“As Penguin becomes more powerful, Fish does not,” Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin) explained in the video interview below. “They are enemies, they are counterbalances to each other…we’re going to see that change, which I think is really exciting. But, also, in terms of delighting in it, what I like about it is I think Penguin does have a certain fondness for her…he owes her a lot.”
Check out more from Taylor about his take on what’s going on with Fish and Penguin, as well as his character’s ambitions…

Comments Off on SLEEPY HOLLOW: Tom Mison Teases Karaoke, the ‘Doomed’ Crane Family, and a Finale that Changes Everything
SLEEPY HOLLOW has put Ichabod Crane through a number of things as he’s struggled to adapt to the modern time, but he’ll face a doozy in the next new episode, “Kali Yuga”: karaoke.
“I smacked myself in the face, because that was something I joked about a long, long, long time ago with Heather Regnier, who wrote this next episode,” Tom Mison (Ichabod) told reporters on a recent conference call. “She called my bluff, and actually wrote it in. I curse myself, I curse Heather Regnier, and [then] got to picking what I thought would be a decent song for Ichabod. She allowed me to choose, which was very kind of her.”
And while Ichabod might have some fun with his karaoke adventure, things are considerably more tense at home: as Ichabod and Katrina struggle to figure out where their marriage stands, the odds appear increasingly stacked against them.

GOTHAM’s Ben McKenzie: ‘The New Jim is Not Above Using People Like Penguin to Get What He Wants’
January 23, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
GOTHAM’s Jim Gordon is approaching the world as a new man.
Originally, Jim thought he could clean up the streets of Gotham while keeping his nose clean. But after multiple professional blows (and his personal life falling apart after his fiancee, Barbara, left him), Jim is at the point where he’s aware he may have to cross some lines in order to properly do his job. And that shift will become apparent in the wake of the Fish/Falcone war.
“Jim knows enough not to get too involved in the turf war…that being said, he has a relationship with Penguin from the beginning of the show that’s complicated and contentious, but useful,” Ben McKenzie (Jim) explains in the video interview below. “So he will use Penguin for the things Penguin can be good at: influence people, getting information, coercing information out of people. And for Penguin, on his side, he flatters himself that Jim is his friend. So it’s a really fun, bizarre, dynamic between the two of them.”
And, McKenzie warns, “the new Jim is not above using people like Penguin to get what he wants.”
Check out more from McKenzie, including his take on the fractured Barbara/Jim relationship, the “powerful” connection with Dr. Thompkins, and more…

Hello BACKSTROM Viewers!
What did you think of this pilot episode? It immediately began by showing Portland Detective Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson) visiting Dr. Deb, and we learn (amongst various racial allusions from Backstrom) that the detective has been relegated to traffic duty for a few years because of his health. Deb warns him of the dangers of his physical eating and drinking habits and gives him an unusual prescription: make a friend within a week.
They are interrupted by Officer Moto, who takes Backstrom to a crime scene being worked by Portland’s newly formed Special Crimes Unit, including Nicole Gravely (Genevieve Angelson) and John Almond (Dennis Haysbert) and Forensics Peter Neidermeyer (Kristopher Polaha).

BACKSTROM: Rainn Wilson on Being Drawn to ‘Quirky, Off-Beat’ Characters

Comments Off on BACKSTROM: Rainn Wilson on Being Drawn to ‘Quirky, Off-Beat’ Characters
BACKSTROM has been in the works for several years (it was initially developed as a pilot for CBS’ 2013-2014 television season), and more than a year after Fox gave the show a 13-episode pickup, it’ll make its debut.
Reporters were invited up to the show’s Vancouver set late last year, and Rainn Wilson spoke with a small group about getting involved with the series. Initially, he relayed (and as you can see in the video below), he thought his agents were “insane” when they told him to the read the pilot (about an offensive, yet brilliant detective) as he was ending his run on THE OFFICE…and yet he “really fell in love with the character.”
Watch the video for more from Wilson, including what he thinks Backstrom would think of THE OFFICE’s Dwight, getting to play a cop, and more…

CASTLE’s title character is hired to investigate a potential infidelity…but then he witnesses his client get murdered, seemingly, by her husband. With no solid evidence, Castle teams up with Beckett to figure out what went down. (It sounds a bit like the show’s 100th episode, though I imagine this time around, it’s not an elaborate ploy.)

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has officially added Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo to the season 12 judging panel, Fox announced. Longtime SYTYCD judge Mary Murphy announced earlier this month that the show had not picked up her option to return. Additionally, the show will have a new twist in the format: stage dancers vs. street dancers.
“With the new and exciting format comes a new and exciting panel of judges,” said executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe in a statement. “I’m delighted that Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo will be joining me at the judges’ table this season on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Paula is an incredible artist and she brings the perfect combination of expertise and heart to the panel.
