He’s back!

CASTLE viewers haven’t seen 3XK/Jerry Tyson since he fell to his (presumed) death in season 5, and in this Monday’s episode, “Resurrection,” Castle and Beckett are shocked when they come face-to-face with him…or at least, someone who looks just like him.

I had the chance to watch “Resurrection” a little bit early, and when I asked you guys for some questions for this YAIA, you delivered. So, I have a few answers to some of your burning questions (though as a reminder, the intention of these posts is always to tease, not completely spoil the episode)…

Report: NBC Looking to Revive LAW & ORDER as a Limited Series

February 6, 2015 by

Comments Off on Report: NBC Looking to Revive LAW & ORDER as a Limited Series

law & order_thumbNBC just renewed Dick Wolf’s CHICAGO FIRE, CHICAGO P.D., and LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS for the 2015-2016 season, but it seems another show from Wolf’s past might get a spot on NBC’s schedule in the future: LAW & ORDER.

Deadline is reporting that NBC is in the early stages of reviving LAW & ORDER — the network’s longest-running primetime drama — for a 10-episode limited series. The show has been off the air since 2010, when its 20-season run was concluded rather unexpectedly, and without fanfare/a proper series finale. (Its cancellation also left it tied with GUNSMOKE as the longest-running primetime drama.)

According to Deadline, former cast members, including Chris Noth (who is currently busy on THE GOOD WIFE) and Sam Waterston have been approached about possibly participating in the limited series.

If this happens, it wouldn’t be the first show NBC revived: HEROES REBORN will be coming to the network this summer. And Fox revived 24 last summer, and is looking towards potentially reviving X-FILES, too.

NBC had no comment on the report.

Comments Off on PENNY DREADFUL Season 2: Showtime Delays Launch by a Week

penny-image002PENNY DREADFUL will return a week later than planned: Showtime announced that season 2 will now kick off on Sunday, May 3rd at 10 PM, instead of the previously announced Sunday, April 26th.

According to Showtime, PENNY DREADFUL’s second finds “Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) and Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) forming a deeper bond as the group, including Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), and Sembene (Danny Sapani), unite to banish the evil forces that threaten to destroy them. Meanwhile, Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), the Creature (Rory Kinnear) and Brona (Billie Piper) are all waging battles of their own. Patti LuPone will guest star as a mysterious character of great importance in Vanessa’s past. Helen McCrory returns as Evelyn Poole (a.k.a. Madame Kali), the seductive spiritualist who will pose a unique threat to our protagonists this season, along with Simon Russell Beale, who is back as eccentric Egyptologist Ferdinand Lyle. Additional guest stars include Douglas Hodge as a Scotland Yard investigator; Sarah Greene as Poole’s powerful daughter, Hecate; and Jonny Beauchamp as a man with a singular past.”

The PARKS AND RECREATION Cast Set to Celebrate the Comedy’s Series Finale on LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS

Comments Off on The PARKS AND RECREATION Cast Set to Celebrate the Comedy’s Series Finale on LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS

parks-and-rec-thumb The PARKS AND RECREATION series finale is (sadly) around the corner, but the February 24th final episodes won’t be the last you see of the gang together: the entire cast has been booked for LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS the night of the NBC comedy’s series finale.

The entire cast — Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Jim O’Heir, and Retta — as well as executive producer Michael Schur will be Meyers’ only guests that night, so that LATE NIGHT should be a lovely tribute to Pawnee. (Poehler and Meyers, as you might remember, co-hosted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’s Weekend Update together for a few years.)

Will you be watching the PARKS AND REC cast on LATE NIGHT post-PARKS AND REC’s series finale?

Needless to say, it was amazing. In case you missed it, check out Perry-as-Cyrus doing “Shake it Off”…

MAN SEEKING WOMAN: Jay Baruchel on Grounding the ‘Cartoon Come to Life’

Comments Off on MAN SEEKING WOMAN: Jay Baruchel on Grounding the ‘Cartoon Come to Life’

MAN SEEKING WOMAN - Key ArtThe new FXX comedy MAN SEEKING WOMAN has put Jay Baruchel’s Josh through a lot in the first few episodes — an ex who went on to date Hitler, a lost penis, a government task force that assists in sending text messages to women — but for the actor, he had the luxury of knowing where his character was going from the start.

“[The writers] been really good enough to walk me through all of it,” Baruchel told reporters on the show’s Toronto set. “I knew when we started where [Josh is] going to end up at the end of the year, and where we have to go if we get to do more of them [in season 2].”

“Part of what makes the show so genius and why we can get away with the crazy stuff we do is it’s all grounded in experience we’ve all gone through at some point,” he continued. “For every episode, I have a very specific frame of reference: I haven’t been electrocuted or covered in semen in real-life, but I’ve certainly been through the minefield that is dating in your 20s. We always want to make sure the audience has something to connect to.”

And while the out-there circumstances of the show are grounded in realistic situations, Baruchel acknowledged that trying to explain what the comedy is doing can be quite difficult.
