SCANDAL was honored at PaleyFest on Sunday night, and during the panel — hosted by JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE’s Jimmy Kimmel — series star Kerry Washington (Olivia) reflected on the show’s very early days, and the cast’s immediate bond.
“We were all cast, except for Darby [Stanchfield (Abby)], and there was this big mystery about what actress was going to be in that role,” Washington recalled during the panel. “We were all at rehearsal when we got the call that the deal had closed and she was on her way. And I remember the feeling when Darby walked in of, ‘Okay, this is our team.’ That moment in a superhero movie, ‘All right, now we gotta go out and get this done.'”
And in those early days, it was a camera test that helped the SCANDAL producers realize the chemistry potential for Fitz and Olivia.

Is Fish’s time limited on GOTHAM?
During an interview with Friday’s LIVE WITH KELLY & MICHAEL, Jada Pinkett Smith hinted she would not return to the Fox series for its already-ordered second season.
“I don’t think so,” she told the co-hosts. “I signed for a year, and the year’s up. But there are some great things coming ahead on GOTHAM. Believe you me.”
Understandably, Team GOTHAM is remaining relatively mum about her/Fish’s status on the series.

Comments Off on DIG: Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche Preview the New USA Network Event Series
USA Network is launching its newest series, DIG, tonight, and as the murder mystery unfolds, Jason Isaacs’ Peter and Anne Heche’s Lynn find themselves in the center of a story thousands of years in the making.
Both Heche and Isaacs are TV vets (the former appeared most recently on THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW, and the latter most recently appeared on ROSEMARY’S BABY), and the “event” nature of the series — in that the story had a beginning, a middle, and an end — appealed to them.
I sat down with the DIG stars last summer — before USA announced its decision to expand the event series to 10 episodes — to talk about the appeal of the show, and what might be in store for their characters…

CSI: CYBER: The Cast Previews the Newest CSI Spinoff

Comments Off on CSI: CYBER: The Cast Previews the Newest CSI Spinoff
CSI’s latest spinoff, CSI: CYBER, goes into a world the previous spinoffs had yet to touch: CYBER tackles the world of cyber analysts (specifically the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI).
“I thought it was a really interesting subject matter,” CSI: CYBER star Patricia Arquette (Agent Avery Ryan) told reporters on the show’s set. “We’ve seen cops with guns for a long time, solving crimes in pretty traditional ways. The original CSI really revolutionized things and [showcased] a different way of fighting crime, and a different part of law enforcement. But this is a whole other thing. I saw the world marching in another direction, and I thought there was so much about it I didn’t know, but I was interested in…as a citizen, I was interested. So I thought other people might be. And these guys, they know how to do it. They know how to entertain people and also educate people in what’s happening in the world.”
With technology constantly advancing, Arquette pointed out that provides ample room for stories to be told.
