CASTLE’s season is nearly over, but before we can dive into the mysterious finale, there’s a lighter hour: tonight’s “Dead From New York.”
Like the title suggests, the case finds Castle and Beckett investigating the death of a producer of a late night variety show, SATURDAY NIGHT TONIGHT. It’s a fun hour, that includes cute guest spots by Jaleel White and Carly Rae Jepsen.
And after viewing the hour, I have a few teases about the episode…

THE SIMPSONS has been renewed for two seasons, Fox announced. That will make it season 27 and 28 for the long-running animated series. (And 625 episodes!)
“I’ve outlasted Letterman, Jon Stewart and ‘McDreamy,’ because I have something they don’t: a costly 200-donut-a-day addiction,” said Homer Simpson in a statement from Fox.
The comedy has had a big year: in addition to the renewal, FXX aired the “Every. Simpsons. Ever.” marathon; launched SIMPSONS WORLD — which boasts streaming on demand of every SIMPSONS episode, in addition to other fun goodies; aired crossovers with both FAMILY GUY and FUTURAMA; and the show took over the Hollywood Bowl for a SIMPSONS musical concert.

Comments Off on SLEEPY HOLLOW: Orlando Jones Won’t Be in Season 3
SLEEPY HOLLOW has lost yet another cast member: Orlando Jones (Frank Irving) won’t return for the upcoming third season, Variety is reporting. (Reps for the show have yet to respond to a request for comment. Update, 1:12 PM: Fox has no comment on the report.)
The show has undergone a massive overhaul in recent months. Not only were Katia Winter’s Katrina and John Noble’s Henry written out, but the series also lost its showrunner, Mark Goffman. (Clifton Campbell was named SLEEPY’s new showrunner when the show was renewed for season 3.)
That leaves only Tom Mison (Ichabod), Nicole Beharie (Abbie), and Lyndie Greenwood (Jenny) signed on for SLEEPY HOLLOW season 3.

Syfy has ordered THE MAGICIANS to series, the network announced. The first season will consist of 12 episodes.
Per Syfy, THE MAGICIANS — which is based upon Lev Grossman’s best-selling books — the series “stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real – and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.”
THE MAGICIANS comes from AQUARIUS’ John McNamara and former SUPERNATURAL showrunner Sera Gamble.

GOTHAM’s first season is coming to an end tonight, and with a war raging on, causalities are going to build up.
“Not everyone is going to survive the finale,” GOTHAM executive producer John Stephens teased in the video interview below. “Especially for people versed in the Batman canon: not everyone you think is going to survive — because of what things they do later — is actually going to survive. Which I think is super exciting.”
Elsewhere in the final hour, Fish makes a new friend, Jim has drama in his work and personal life, and Bruce makes a key discovery.
GOTHAM stars Ben McKenzie (Jim), Jada Pinkett Smith (Fish), Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin), David Mazouz (Bruce), Camren Bicondova (Selina), and Cory Michael Smith (Nygma), as well as executive producers Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon, and Stephens, previewed what’s in store in the show’s final season 1 hour… Read more
