We’re only a few hours away from BONES airing two episodes back-to-back (they are not connected by case, so calling it a two-hour episode feels wrong), and after viewing “The Lost in the Found” and “The Verdict in the Victims,” I do have a few teases about what’s going down… Read more
The CW Orders LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, CORDON, and CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND to Series

Comments Off on The CW Orders LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, CORDON, and CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND to Series
The CW has officially picked up its ARROW/FLASH spinoff (now titled LEGENDS OF TOMORROW), Julie Plec’s CORDON (about a viral outbreak that requires a cordon around the infected area), and CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, which was conceived as a 30-minute Showtime series before the cable channel passed on it.
The LEGENDS OF TOMORROW — which features key villains and heroes from the established DC TV universe — logline sounds particularly promising: “”When heroes alone are not enough … the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”

Though CW hasn’t returned a request for comment, multiple reports are saying the series has been canceled.
The news isn’t unexpected: creator Leila Gerstein had been open about the final episode being the end, and noted on Twitter some of the touches they did to bring the HOD family into the finale.

Following its pickup of three dramas, NBC has started its comedy orders for the 2015-2016 season.
First up? PEOPLE ARE TALKING, a multi-cam from GROWING UP FISHER creator DJ Nash, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Meaghan Rath, Tone Bell and Bresha Webb.
NBC’s description of the comedy: “If you can think it, they will say it. From producer Will Packer (“Ride Along”) and director Pam Fryman (“How I Met Your Mother”) comes this unabashed new comedy about two diverse couples who are both neighbors and best friends. As they go through life side-by-side, they can’t help but analyze and obsess about everything. From topics like sex and race, to the fact that the trusted new babysitter might just be a porn star, nothing is out of bounds for this wildly outspoken foursome.”
And here’s a photo of Gosselaar and Bell in PEOPLE ARE TALKING…

PERSON OF INTEREST Post-Mortem: Greg Plageman on Season 5’s ‘Greatest Mystery,’ Rebuilding the Machine, Exploring Backstories, and More

Filed under #1 featured, Person of Interest
PERSON OF INTEREST closed out its excellent fourth season with a traumatizing — and action-packed — finale, “YHWH.”
For POI co-showrunner Greg Plageman, he got to witness some of the fan reaction to the bloodshed and trauma via the POI writers’ room Twitter account.
“I think [the fans are] simultaneously horrified and engaged,” he laughed. “They know someone is going to die, they don’t know who it is, but they gotta stay engaged. It’s a lot of fun.”
With season 4 now behind us, I spoke with Plageman about what the writers have in store for season 5 — including the “greatest mystery,” if everyone we think is dead will stay dead, Martine’s unseen backstory, and much more…

IZOMBIE will return for a second season, The CW announced.
The Rose McIver-led series has aired eight episodes of its first season so far. (The season finale will air on June 9th.) The pickup means in terms of new shows, only THE MESSENGERS has yet to hear its fate. (HART OF DIXIE is still, technically, on the bubble.)

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH Gets a New Showrunner

Comments Off on THE LAST MAN ON EARTH Gets a New Showrunner
Former THE OFFICE executive producer Dan Sterling has joined Fox’s THE LAST MAN ON EARTH as showrunner, a rep for the show confirmed.
The comedy — which was created by star Will Forte, and executive produced by Chris Miller and Phil Lord — has a 13-episode second season order, which could be expanded in the coming weeks.
“The order is for 13 [episodes],” Miller said earlier this month. “We don’t want to do 22. A big reason of that is Will’s in the writers’ room, he’s in the editing room, and it would just be impossible. I think we’re planning on doing more than 13. We’re going to figure out where the story’s going, exactly, and we’ll probably have a few more than 13. Somewhere between 13 and 22…they want more, we want to do more, also, but we have to figure it out. Even if we do more, it might be two kind of half seasons type of things.”
