We’re starting off the Television Critics Association summer press tour with Netflix. The streaming site’s boss, Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer for Netflix Executive Session, is up first, so follow along for a live-blog…8:35 AM: Sarandos touts how Netflix has changed the landscape — now shows are being released in binge form, etc.

8:40 AM: BOJACK HORSEMAN has been renewed for a third season, and

8:41 AM: Sarandos says we don’t need a new term for “binge” — the term is what it is, and you don’t have to watch an entire season in one sitting to qualify as a binge.

8:43 AM: “None of those shows are designed to attract [the entire Netflix audience],” Sarandos says. He doesn’t want to pit the shows against each other.

8:46 AM: Viewers will get a new Marvel show/season about every six months. Ultimately, it will lead to DEFENDERS after every character has had, at least, its first season. Some shows (like DAREDEVIL) will get orders beyond season 1, and others won’t.

8:47 AM: “We shot our first episode this past week,” Sarandos says. He notes the show has “never gone away” and it’s a cross-generational audience. He also says the Olsen twins are “teetering” with whether or not they’ll be around.

8:51 AM: Sarandos points out Hulu’s SEINFELD deal isn’t wholly exclusive — select episodes are available on Crackle.com.

8:53 AM: “We are plugging along…it’s a very long complex deal to make with these guys,” Sarandos says of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. “It is our intent to have a new season of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.”

8:55 AM: “Thrilled,” Sarandos says of the Netflix deal with Adam Sandler. He has no regrets about the deal.

8:56 AM: “There’s no real policy,” Sarandos says of how they pick up shows that were canceled. “Sometimes a show gets canceled off a network because it’s run out of creative steam, but it’s the wrong demographic to sell ads…a business climate that works, a creative [team] that works, and a passionate audience.”

8:58 AM: FULL HOUSE won’t be appearing on Netflix any time soon — it’s tied up in syndication deals.
