KINGDOM will return to DirecTV on October 14th at 9 PM, it was announced during the panel’s Television Critics Association.
And though the series — which was picked up for 20 episodes — got a larger order, creator Byron Balasco shared during the panel he has plans for the show beyond that.
“I’m an optimist, so I always tell the story in a way that it can continue,” Balasco said. “We’re just exploring chapters of these people’s lives.”
One of the big moves of this season? Lisa (Kiele Sanchez) and Alvey (Frank Grillo) are having a baby.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: Ryan Murphy and the Cast Preview HOTEL
August 7, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
The AMERICAN HORROR STORY franchise traditionally has a great amount of secrecy pre-premiere, but at the show’s Television Critics Association panel for HOTEL, co-creator Ryan Murphy shared new details about what to expect from the show’s fifth installment.
“It’s set in a hotel…it’s set in Los Angeles, which the first season was as well,” Murphy told reporters. “And what I’ve loved about this season is the hotel is set in Downtown Los Angeles, so we really deal with a lot of the American horrors, which is addiction…and on and on. And we were really inspired by the idea of a hotel; there was a surveillance video that went around two years ago that just showed a girl getting into an elevator in a downtown hotel that is rumored to be haunted, and she was never seen again. So that was around two years ago we started thinking of this idea.”
Additionally, each cast member shared a tidbit about their character… Read more
THE STRAIN First Look: Eph Goes on a Mission…and Gets a New Look
August 7, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under The Strain, TV News
THE STRAIN’s Eph thinks he has the key to stop the vampires that are taking over New York — in the form of the bioweapon he and Nora have been working on — but now comes the hard part: getting the resources so they can mass produce it.
In order to do that, Eph takes a trip to Washington, D.C. in this Sunday’s brand new episode.
“There’s this great sort of two-episode arc where I go down to D.C. to try to get the bioweapon made,” THE STRAIN star Corey Stoll (Eph) told reporters on the show’s Toronto set earlier this year. “You definitely get the sense that [the outbreak] is affecting the rest of the country, but everybody else had the lead time to sort of protect themselves. So [we see that] D.C. is somewhat normal, but there are huge political ramifications, they’re trying to reach the president, and the government is definitely reeling from it, but it’s not this vector of disease like New York is.”
And as Eph makes the journey, he has to go incognito…and so he gets a (familiar) new look.

FX Orders BETTER THINGS, FXX Picks Up CASSIUS AND CLAY

Comments Off on FX Orders BETTER THINGS, FXX Picks Up CASSIUS AND CLAY
FX has ordered BETTER THINGS, which was co-created (and will star) Pamela Adlon, to series. (Adlon co-created the series with Louis C.K.) The first season will consist of ten episodes.
Here’s what FX has to say about the new show: “What’s it like to be a working woman raising three daughters on her own? Don’t ask. Ok. Since you asked. Things get gnarly. And bloody. And funny. Well to you, anyway. In Better Things, Adlon plays “Sam,” a working actor with no filter trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two, and also – just maybe – squeeze in some private time once in a while. Her life is funny to watch, but you wouldn’t want to live it (except sometimes).”
“Pamela is one of the sharpest and most endearing actresses working in television today and we are thrilled she has joined forces with Louis to create a series that is raw, personal and incredibly funny,” said Schrier, co-President of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions, in a statement.
“I’m incredibly grateful to John Landgraf and all the folks at FX and excited to work with them to explore the real and funny truths of being a single working mom,” Adlon said.
Over on FXX, the network will now be the new home for ARCHER, and they’ve also picked up CASSIUS AND CLAY. The ten-episode first season will air in 2016.
Per FXX, the show is “an animated action-buddy comedy starring Kaitlin Olson as “Cassius” and Lake Bell as “Clay,” bandits looking to survive in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic American South.”
In addition to Olson and Bell, the voice cast includes series regular Susan Sarandon, with guest spots from from JB Smoove, Kevin Michael Richardson, Jeffrey Tambor, Stephen Root, Katy Mixon and Robert Patrick.

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH Officially Books Jason Sudeikis

Comments Off on THE LAST MAN ON EARTH Officially Books Jason Sudeikis
Jason Sudeikis is officially guest-starring on THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, Fox announced.
The first season of the Fox comedy ended with the reveal that Sudeikis — who plays Will Forte’s brother — was still alive…in space.
“Will had an idea with what he wanted to do with that,” THE LAST MAN ON EARTH executive producer Chris Miller said at the time. “There’s a development with that in the second season that we’re hoping to do. We did set that up in the pilot: in the pilot, he hangs up a picture of his family in his new house, and you see Will and his real parents, and his brother. It’s something we planned to do all along from the very beginning. It was exciting to do, and that we were able to accomplish it!”
“Well, if I had my way, Jason Sudeikis would be a permanent member of the cast because he’s super funny and freaking awesome, and I love him as a person,” Forte gushed. “But that’s not a realistic scenario. I would never ask that of him, because he’s got so much exciting stuff going on in his life. That’s something we’ll figure out as buddies. I honestly don’t know [what’ll happen with that]. He’s been so cool already to do that part. But I definitely have a plan that we can implement.”

Fox Teases BONES, SLEEPY HOLLOW Crossover
August 6, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
It’s official: Fox’s BONES and SLEEPY HOLLOW will cross over on Thursday, October 29th.
So how the heck is this going to work? The network released episode teases for both hours: “On BONES (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), the grisly discovery of human remains lead Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) on a hunt for clues, during which they encounter Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), searching for answers of their own. Realizing that they are after the same evidence, they team up to solve the mystery. Then, immediately following on SLEEPY HOLLOW (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the intrigue continues as Ichabod’s old nemesis is back from the dead. Ichabod and Abbie need advanced forensic help and expertise to stop him and turn to Brennan and Booth to unlock 18th century secrets using 21st century science.”
BONES: Kim Raver Lands Pivotal Two-Episode Arc

Comments Off on BONES: Kim Raver Lands Pivotal Two-Episode Arc
The mystery of how BONES is going to work Booth and Brennan back to the Jeffersonian/FBI has taken an intriguing twist: 24 star Kim Raver has been cast as FBI Special Agent Grace Miller — who is involved in “the investigation surrounding the disappearance of FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth.” Raver will appear in the first two episodes of the season.
It seems Booth and Brennan’s life away from DC has taken a twist. The duo left their home at the end of season 10 for a fresh start (of sorts), with a new baby on the way, and newly reconciled after Booth’s gambling addiction relapse.
