SLEEPY HOLLOW is returning for its third season on October 1st…with quite a few changes in store.
Tom Mison’s Ichabod and Nicole Beharie’s Abbie are still leading the way as humanity’s best hope at avoiding a full-on apocalypse (with help from Lyndie Greenwood’s Jenny), but the show lost Orlando Jones’ Irving — who exited the series over the hiatus — as a vital ally. And since Team Witness defeated John Noble’s Henry and Katia Winter’s Katrina were killed off in the final episodes of the show’s second season, the show needed some new blood to fill their shoes.
Enter Nikki Reed (who is playing Betsy Ross, Crane’s former partner), Shannyn Sossamon (who is playing the show’s new Big Bad, Pandora), Lance Gross (who is playing Abbie’s boss, Daniel Reynolds), and season 2 guest star Zach Appelman, (who played Corbin’s son, Joe), all of whom are now regulars on the drama.
The series also changed bosses over the hiatus: Clifton Campbell joined the show, replacing departing showrunner Mark Goffman.
“I saw there were a few things that [SLEEPY HOLLOW] very subtly needed to recalibrate to bring the fun back to the show, to bring the characters of Abbie and Crane front and center,” Campbell acknowledged.
I spoke with him about taking on the show, what’s next for the Witnesses, the new Big Bad, building out a season-long flashback tale, and more…

CASTLE: ‘PhDead’ Photos

CASTLE just went through a massive shake-up, but I have to admit, the title of the next episode (“PhDead”) is currently cracking me up.
No, it doesn’t help the fracture in Castle and Beckett’s relationship. And the title does refer to the case of the week — a frat member is killed, so Castle goes undercover as a professor. But on the bright side, Castle and Beckett seem to be making some progress?
Check out some photos from “PhDead”…
CASTLE
CASTLE - "PhDead" - When the body of a local college fraternity student is found gruesomely murdered, Castle has to go undercover as a professor in order to gain access to the victim's world. However, he and Beckett soon discover that behind the fun and games of college are some darker secrets the university wants to keep hidden. "PhDead" will air on MONDAY, OCTOBER 5 (10:01-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Mitchell Haaseth) MOLLY QUINN
CASTLE airs Mondays 10 PM on ABC.

BONES Bosses on Embracing the Past, the ‘Energizing’ Season 11, and the Game-Changing Midseason Finale
September 30, 2015 by Marisa Roffman

BONES is starting its impressive 11th season with new bosses in charge — but, thankfully, Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson (the aforementioned showrunners) have been with the show for a bit, and have a vested interest in doing right by it.
“We love the show,” Peterson gushed over the summer. “We’ve been handed the most precious baby in the world, and we want to see her run for a long, long time. We love her. We’re going to do whatever is best for her. We’re not going to do it if it’s not true to the characters, the story. I’d like to see her live as long as THE SIMPSONS lives.”
“We were handed something that was great, so we’re deeply respectful of what [BONES creator] Hart [Hanson] and [longtime BONES showrunner] Stephen [Nathan] have done before us,” Collier pointed out. “The DNA of the show is so good, they managed it so well. The first rule of thumb is do no harm. The second rule is keep it fresh, which was Hart’s advice to us. Everything we’re doing is with Hart and Stephen’s blessing; we love them, we still lean on them for advice.”
The duo also received another important piece of feedback when it was announced they would be taking over showrunning duties.

Phil and Claire are feeling a little snubbed by their kids when Alex intentionally gives them the wrong college move in date to avoid making it a big deal, and Luke seems less than eager to spend the day with Phil at his open house and would rather go hang out with some guys from school. Elsewhere, the rest of the family concoct an elaborate story to get out of going to Lily’s soccer game which only adds to the stress Mitch and Cam are feeling now that they’ve added landlords to their resume after deciding to rent out the top unit for temporary stays.
