The Darkness is here on SUPERNATURAL, and things don’t look great for the Winchester brothers in the season 11 premiere, “Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire.” (Though, I suppose if things were going well for Sam and Dean, it wouldn’t be very SUPERNATURAL-y.)

THE VOICE season 9 kicks things off on a high note with this Monday’s season premiere, and one of the brightest spots is Barrett Baber’s audition.
As you can see in the clip below, Baber — whose story will likely make you cry — impressed all four coaches, and the gloves came off as they battled to get him to pick them.

Comments Off on CASTLE Season 8 Premiere: ‘XY’ You Ask, I Answer
CASTLE’s eighth season kicks off in a unique way: when Beckett goes missing, the first hour of the premiere tracks Castle (and the team’s) quest to find out what happened to her. (We’ll see what went down from her point of view in the second episode of the season, “XX.”)
I had the chance to watch the first episode, “XY,” and was able to answer a few of your questions about the hour. As a reminder, the intention of this is never to ruin the viewing experience, so these are more teases than flat-out spoilers.
Here’s what I can say about “XY”…

SCORPION Season 2 Premiere: ‘Satellite of Love’ You Ask, I Answer

SCORPION’s second season kicks off on Monday, September 21st, and though on-screen the team has been fractured — with Cabe tasked with other work, and Walter recovering from his post-accident injuries — off-screen, the writers/producers have found their groove.
“Season 1 is always about the show finding its rhythm on a production level, how the cast will function together, how the characters will function,” SCORPION executive producer Alex Kurtzman acknowledged. “Season 1 was about a group of misfits that had been openly rejected by most of their own families, and came together to form their own surrogate family. So now they’ve become a family.”
But where does that family go next? I had the chance to screen the (very fun) season premiere, “Satellite of Love” and have a few teases…

Comments Off on THE FLASH: Andrew Kreisberg Teases Tom Cavanagh’s Season 2 Role
THE FLASH’s season 1 Big Bad — Dr. Wells/Eobard Thawne — was defeated in the first season finale (thanks to Eddie sacrificing himself)…but his portrayer, Tom Cavanagh, is a series regular in the show’s second season.
“How he comes back is something we’re really proud of and we’re very excited about, and Tom is very excited about,” THE FLASH showrunner Andrew Kreisberg told reporters in the video below. “So much of the success of the show was Tom’s portrayal of Thawne and Wells, and that relationship he has with Barry…that will continue in the form in which it continues.”
Check out the video for more from Kreisberg, including the balance of serialization vs. cases of the week, and more…

Comments Off on THE MINDY PROJECT: Matt Warburton on Moving to Hulu, Meeting the ‘Male Mindy,’ Danny’s ‘Weird,’ ‘Internal,’ ‘Neurotic’ Journey
THE MINDY PROJECT’s second life — on Hulu — is just around the corner.
Almost immediately after the comedy was canceled at Fox, rumors started circulating that Hulu was looking to revive the series. It took only nine days for the move to become official, and the show was even able to come back as the traditional fall season kicked off.
The season 4 premiere picks up immediately where season 3 ended: after Danny discovered Mindy never told her parents about their relationship — and after he made it clear he doesn’t have a desire to get married again — he is in India, on a mysterious mission.
As Danny’s away, Mindy goes on her own journey. In “While I Was Sleeping,” she dreams what life might be like if she was in a relationship with someone a bit more similar to herself.
I spoke with THE MINDY PROJECT showrunner Matt Warburton about the show’s move, creating the “male Mindy,” Danny at “his most weird and internal and neurotic,” and more…

CASTLE: New Showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter Tease Season 8
September 14, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE is undergoing a good number of changes when the show returns on September 21st.
On-screen, THE NEIGHBORS’ Toks Olagundoye has joined the ABC drama as Hayley, a security specialist; meanwhile, Penny Johnson Jerald (Gates) is off the show, and Beckett is the new captain.
Off-screen, there are some changes at play, too. Season 7 showrunner David Amann has left, as have CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe and executive producer Terri Edda Miller. Long-time CASTLE writer Terence Paul Winter is now running the series with former CASTLE writer (and recent THE FOLLOWING co-showrunner) Alexi Hawley.
And season 8 is going to be a big one for the show.
“It’s going to be a great year…we have a delightful launch, these wonderful tentpoles where things are changing and evolving,” Winter shared. “And for the whole season, we’re telling a wonderful story from beginning to end that will further the love story of Castle and Beckett.”
I spoke with Winter and Hawley about taking over showrunner responsibilities, what’s in store this season, and more…
