HEROES REBORN: Zachary Levi and Judi Shekoni on the Collins’ Twisted Relationship

Comments Off on HEROES REBORN: Zachary Levi and Judi Shekoni on the Collins’ Twisted Relationship
In addition to all the new people with powers HEROES REBORN introduced in its first few hours, the show also added two very powerful humans — Luke and Joanne Collins — who have made it their mission to take out “evos,” following the death of their son in a terrorist attack. (Allegedly, powered people were responsible for the attack.)
“I do feel like this year [since their son’s death], the only thing that’s keeping them together is this common enemy they have…and avenging their son,” Zachary Levi (Luke) said. “I think…losing our son impacted us both in really deep and powerful ways, but also different ways. As a husband who is trying to show love to his wife, I think he has found that this is maybe the best way to show her love, which is strange…the couple that kills together, stays together.”
“They had a good marriage earlier,” Judi Shekoni (Joanne) acknowledged. “They have history, having had a child, and having lost their only child together, that connection. I think there’s the commonality of pain…I think there’s that going on. And I think neither of us are in a position to really know ourselves what’s going on.”
Though cracks in their partnership were just starting to make themselves apparent in the first couple episodes, that will continue to grow as they go further down this path.

Things aren’t looking particularly bright in the present for the ONCE UPON A TIME characters now that Emma has gone full Dark Swan. But thanks to the show using its flashback device to explore what exactly went down in Camelot to turn her so dark, there are little slices of brightness mixed in.
Check out the characters exploring Camelot in “The Price”…

BONES: Emily Deschanel on Kim Raver’s Character and Defending Booth
October 1, 2015 by Sarah Curtis

Comments Off on BONES: Emily Deschanel on Kim Raver’s Character and Defending Booth
As reported earlier in August, Kim Raver is part of a 2-episode arc on BONES this year—and the arc happens to be the first two episodes of the year. The show is treating the two episodes as a two-part premiere. The first episode airs tonight on Fox at 8 PM and the second next Thursday night.
There are other teaser posts about the premiere, and after the episode, we’ll have a post-mortem with co-showrunner Michael Peterson and my episode recap, so I won’t say too much more here, except to say that I really loved Raver’s turn as Agent Grace Miller.
Her character does butt heads with several other characters we know and love, but that is what I enjoyed about it. I think BONES does a great job integrating new characters (Aubrey being a good example), but for the most part, the new characters quickly come into alignment with the existing themes/characterizations that exist in the BONES-universe. Agent Miller challenges the audience’s perspective of Booth.
On paper, it’s true—he is a bit of a mess, he has suffered tremendous trauma, he can be dangerous, and he presents a risk. But for those characters who know him (and us in the audience), Booth’s track record doesn’t speak to his entire character. I came away from the first two episodes liking the idea that the real Booth is somewhere in the middle—not the guy in an FBI dossier against him, but also not as perfect or pure as some of the characters (and again us in the audience) make him out to be either.
On a recent conference call, I asked BONES star Emily Deschanel (Brennan) what it was like to work with Raver and what it was like to interact with a character who didn’t know Booth quite so well… Read more
UNFORGETTABLE Season 4 Gets an A&E Premiere Date

Comments Off on UNFORGETTABLE Season 4 Gets an A&E Premiere Date
UNFORGETTABLE will return for its fourth season — at its new home, A&E — on Friday, November 13th with back-to-back episodes at 8 and 9 PM.
Per A&E, “In the premiere episode, UNFORGETTABLE returns with the enigmatic Carrie Wells on a career high, making headlines as New York’s most decorated cop. Reveling in her recent successes will prove to be short-lived for Carrie. Armed with her unique ability and backed up by those she trusts the most, Carrie will face some of the most challenging cases of her career this season, with each case becoming more memorable than the last.”
Once again, there are a good number of newbies joining UNFORGETTABLE. A&E teased, “Major Crimes team gets a makeover with newcomers Alani “La La” Anthony (“Power”) as flashy medical examiner Delina Michaels, Kathy Najimy (“Veep,” “King of the Hill”) as Captain Sandra Russo, the team’s new boss and E.J. Bonilla (“Revenge”) as young, wisecracking Detective “Denny” Padilla who has a penchant for Carrie, much to the dismay of Al. Additional players that promise to shake up Carrie and Al’s world include Skeet Ulrich (“Law and Order: LA”) as Carrie’s mysterious long lost husband Eddie Martin and comedienne Rachel Dratch (“Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock”) as Rosie Webb, the patience-testing star witness in a high-profile securities fraud case whom Carrie and Al are tasked with safely delivering to Miami. Finally, Grammy Award-winner Ashanti (“Army Wives”) will appear as Stella, a gorgeous jazz singer caught up in the underbelly of NYC’s music scene, who catches the eye of Al. Series regular James Hiroyuki Liao returns as Major Crimes team member Jay Lee.”

SEX AND THE CITY’s Cynthia Nixon has signed on to guest star in the second season of THE AFFAIR, Showtime announced.
According to the network, Nixon will play Marilyn Sanders, “a direct and challenging Manhattan couples therapist who is helping Noah and Alison come together after a period of strain.”
THE AFFAIR — which kicks off its sophomore season this Sunday — will change up its format in the upcoming year: instead of showcasing the events of the series through Noah and Alison’s point of views, this year we’ll also get insight into Helen (Noah’s ex-wife) and Cole (Alison’s ex-husband).
THE AFFAIR premieres Sunday, October 4th at 10 PM on Showtime.

Students returned to school over the past few weeks, but odds are good they didn’t get a welcome as cool as the one SUPERNATURAL stars Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Jared Padalecki (Sam) had for their new lot mates.
While a good number of shows currently film in Vancouver, SUPERNATURAL has been the only television show to regularly shoot at its studio for the past decade — but that changed with this current season.
To welcome the casts of CW’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and Fox’s LUCIFER to the studio, Ackles and Padalecki had a hilarious “Welcome Freshman Class” banner made, and posed this week with the new kids on the block.
