Personal Note about Give Me My Remote
November 16, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
As of today (November 16th), I’ll be joining TV Guide Magazine/TV Insider as a full-time staff writer. Which, sadly, means my time at Give Me My Remote is coming to an end.
I don’t want this to be an overly emotional (or long) goodbye post, so I just want to say a few quick things…
1) The site will continue to exist. There won’t be regular content (though posts will be going up over the next few weeks, and for a few midseason shows in 2016), but the site won’t be closing/going offline. It is possible I may end up doing roundup posts about what I’m doing over at TV Guide Magazine/TV Insider, but I truly don’t know yet.
2) I have spent a little over half my career at GMMR. The vast majority of the work that I cherish the most, I did here. I am excited about what comes next, but that doesn’t diminish the deep, deep love I have (and imagine I will always have) for this site. I am so proud of GMMR and everything that we’ve done.
3) I am so thankful to every single person who has been a part of this amazing community. Whether you wrote a post, left a comment, or just simply read what we put online, it meant the world to me. Truly.
4) I could live another hundred years, and I wouldn’t be able to tell you enough about how amazing Sarah Curtis is. Sarah was at GMMR before I arrived, and she has been such a beautiful light/part of this experience for me. Not only has she been, I’d argue, the best BONES recapper around, but she’s been such a key part of what made the site work for as long as it has. And, on a selfish note, most importantly, she’s been an incredible friend. I am so thankful to have her in my life, and I do hope you follow her, too.
I could ramble on for another couple thousand words about how much I love GMMR (and I don’t rule it out for the comments section), but I simply just want to end with thank you. Thank you so much for making these past five years so amazing. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
