When remains of real estate agent Justin Ross are found in the forest and appear to have been destroyed by coyote-wolf hybrids, Brennan enlists the help of fellow brilliant forensic anthropologist Dr. Beth Mayer (guest star Betty White) to assist in the investigation. In addition to her professional achievements, Mayer is surprisingly knowledgeable about the world of fantasy football, a key link to Ross’ past and one that could provide vital information in finding his killer. As Booth and Aubrey dig into Ross’ fantasy football league history, they discover he was actively involved in a Twitter feud with NFL star Lou Divers (guest star Ronde Barber), and was also owed a large sum of money from the league’s commissioner, making each of them suspects. Meanwhile, Brennan resists feeling competitive as Mayer impresses the team with her expertise and decades of accomplishments.

Betty White is making her BONES debut in the October 22nd hour, “The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves,” and the writers found themselves with a teeny tiny problem when it came time to penning the hour.
“You can’t write an episode with Betty White in it, and not let every single actor be in a scene with her,” BONES co-showrunner Michael Peterson laughed. “You would have had mutiny on your hands. So it was very carefully crafted. We had to make sure, where’s Booth with her? Where’s Brennan? Where’s Angela? Cam, Hodgins, everybody, to give them that moment.”

Outside of that, Peggy and Ed’s relationship was a bit rocky to begin with. On the show’s Calgary set, Dunst and Plemons shared some insight into their characters and that relationship… Read more
