Ah, romance.
In this Sunday’s episode of THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, Tandy (Will Forte) and Carol (Kristen Schaal) get their first real opportunity to have couple time (or, um, “release the hounds”) since they had their twins.
But naturally, Tandy doesn’t simply light candles or put on sexy music to seduce his wife…he goes all out. With the babies’ ears safely guarded (why scar the kids this early in life?), Tandy puts on a show for Carol—complete with a sexy dance, fedora, long nightshirt, and a very thorough body cleaning.
Check out the sequence in this exclusive clip from “Release the Hounds”…

Throughout MOM’s five seasons, the cast and writers of the CBS series have seamlessly injected natural drama into the comedy series, and the current storyline is no different. As Jill (Jaime Pressly) struggles to get back on the wagon, she leans heavily on Christy (Anna Faris), Bonnie (Allison Janney), Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy), and Wendy (Beth Hall).
Before the comedy’s recent PaleyFest panel, Pressly previewed how her character was handling the bump in the road, plus Janney, Kennedy, and Hall teased their characters’ reaction to Jill’s setback.
GOTHAM: Ben McKenzie on Directing (Again)

Comments Off on GOTHAM: Ben McKenzie on Directing (Again)
After more than 15 years working in television, Ben McKenzie made his directorial debut with a 2017 GOTHAM episode. (The May 1 hour, “These Delicate and Dark Obsessions.”)
Now, McKenzie—who also stars on the series as Captain Jim Gordon—steps behind the camera again with Thursday’s deliciously twisted installment, “One Of My Three Soups.” In the episode, notable inmates from Arkham Asylum—including Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) and Tetch/the Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel)—break free and cause deadly mayhem in Gotham.
The first time McKenzie directed, “I was worried about screwing it up,” he told reporters. “I was very conservative. My goal was to be able to do it again. And look, if you’re the lead of the show and you’re directing, they tend to give you a lot of rope there. They’re probably going to bring you back—but you didn’t want to mess it up.”
‘Scoobynatural’: The SUPERNATURAL Producers Tease the ‘Just Insane Enough’ Hour

Comments Off on ‘Scoobynatural’: The SUPERNATURAL Producers Tease the ‘Just Insane Enough’ Hour
SUPERNATURAL is no stranger to bizarre episodes—like season 6’s “The French Mistake,” when Jared Padalecki’s Sam and Jensen Ackles’ Dean were sent to an alternate reality where their lives were actually a show called SUPERNATURAL—but Thursday’s episode takes things to a whole new level.
In “Scoobynatural,” Sam, Dean, and Castiel (Misha Collins) wind up in the world of SCOOBY-DOO (much to the delight of Dean), and have to both solve a case plus how to get back to their world.
Prior to the show’s PaleyFest panel, executive producer Andrew Dabb acknowledged crafting an episode like this is a tightrope. “The challenge is not letting it go too far out of the box,” executive producer Andrew Dabb says in the video below. “Because it still needs to be an episode of SUPERNATURAL. We don’t want to go too insane. We wanted to go just insane enough.”

Looking Back at the BONES Series Finale

Comments Off on Looking Back at the BONES Series Finale
On March 28, 2017, BONES concluded its 12-season run on Fox.
The 246 episodes the drama ran is impressive on any level, but in an age when few shows even film 20+ episode seasons, it’s hard to imagine many current shows reaching that milestone. (BONES ended its run as Fox’s longest-running live-action series; THE X-FILES just reached 218, but likely won’t go beyond that.)
Of course, the people associated with the show have been busy since then: David Boreanaz’s (Booth) SEAL TEAM was just renewed for season 2; Tamara Taylor (Cam) was on season 1 of ALTERED CARBON; Michaela Conlin (Angela) will be on YELLOWSTONE; John Francis Daley has found a great amount of success with screenwriting; and a gaggle of squinterns/supporting characters are popping up all over TV.

THE BIG BANG THEORY is welcoming another big name guest star in Thursday’s new episode: Bill Gates (who is playing himself).
In the episode, Penny’s (Kaley Cuoco) pharmaceutical company hopes to partner with Gates’ corporation. Needless to say, Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), and Howard (Simon Helberg) lose their minds with excitement and after Penny declines to introduce them, the trio go more than a little overboard to try and get face-time with the billionaire genius.
Before the CBS comedy’s PaleyFest panel, executive producers Bill Prady and Steve Holland teased what to expect from Gates’ appearance in “The Gates Excitation.” Read more

CBS has picked up second seasons of David Boreanaz’s SEAL TEAM and Shemar Moore’s S.W.A.T.
“These exciting new dramas have been sensational additions to our schedule, are striking all the right notes creatively, and really connect with our viewers,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “SEAL TEAM has strengthened our Wednesday line up – routinely winning its time period with over 10 million viewers and allowing us to build an even more powerful night, while S.W.A.T. has improved Thursday’s 10:00 PM hour by over 2.5 million viewers versus last season. Additionally, both are among the very top streamers on our digital platforms, including CBS.com and CBS All Access. We congratulate the talented casts and producers on an amazing year as we look forward to their return next season.”
The dramas join fellow freshman YOUNG SHELDON on CBS’ lineup for 2018-2019. (THE BIG BANG THEORY will also return, as part of its two-season pickup.)

MOM: Anna Faris Previews the Group’s Turmoil

Comments Off on MOM: Anna Faris Previews the Group’s Turmoil
The women of MOM’s AA support group had a setback in the last episode, as Jill (Jaime Pressly) relapsed.
Christy (Anna Faris), who has been Jill’s biggest ally, struggles to help her friend in Thursday’s new installment…even to the potential detriment of her personal life. “She feels very motherly over Jill,” Faris notes in the video below. “I love that we get to put this dynamic into a show…You have these five strong women going through real life struggles. And on CBS! We constantly look around [in shock].”
Unfortunately, Jill’s hardships are the tip of the iceberg for the close-knit group of women. Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy), the makeshift family leader, will have her own road bump later in the season. “Marjorie has always been a surrogate mother figure to Christy, so I think it’s very disconcerting, of course,” Faris says. “It shakes up her world. [Bonnie] has never been a very stable figure she can count on, so it’s very jarring.”

Get ready for a very animated SUPERNATURAL…literally.
In Thursday’s new episode of the long-running CW drama, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) find themselves transported to an animated reality, where they cross paths with the Scooby gang.
The CW released a featurette ahead of the ridiculously fun episode, “Scoobynatural,” which shows footage of the show’s stars recording their dialogue, some of the rough animation (and well as clips from the hour), and more.

“We are going back to work next month, and we’re super excited,” STRANGER THINGS executive producer Shawn Levy said at the show’s PaleyFest panel on Sunday night.
The EP and stars of the series—Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Paul Reiser, Sean Astin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and Sadie Sink—were tight-lipped about what’s to come (and even the show’s premiere date) during the event, moderated by Wil Wheaton.
The drama became a phenomenon in its first season, so during the second year, the team made a concerted effort to block out the world. “[We opted] to just hunker down and just trust the [show’s creators the Duffer] brothers,” Levy noted. “It became a willful tuning out of all that noise.”
Given the series went on to grab 18 Emmy nominations (in 2017) since they wrapped the sophomore year, good advice to hold on to for the foreseeable future.
