Annabella Sciorra has joined the second season of MARVEL’s LUKE CAGE, Marvel and Netflix announced.
Sciorra—who was Emmy-nominated for her guest work on HBO’s THE SOPRANOS—will play Rosalie Carbone, “a dangerous downtown criminal underworld power player with an eye, and an agenda, toward Harlem.” (In the comics, Rosalie had ties to Frank Castle/the Punisher.) The previously announced cast of LUKE CAGE season 2 includes Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), and Theo Rossi (Shades).
“I’ve been a huge fan of hers since Spike Lee’s JUNGLE FEVER, and Anabella Sciorra is no joke as Rosalie Carbone,” said showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker in a statement. “You haven’t seen her this gangster since her thrilling turn as Tony’s formidable flame Gloria Trillo on season 3 of THE SOPRANOS. I’m thrilled her introduction to the Marvel Universe will be on MARVEL’S LUKE CAGE.”
“We couldn’t be happier to be working with such an incredible talent,” added Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb. “This character is complex and layered and Annabella is the perfect actress to portray her.”
Sciorra, who last appeared on television as an ADA on CBS’ BULL, will next recur on Netflix’s GLOW season 2.
Are you excited Rosalie will be causing trouble on MARVEL’S LUKE CAGE?

SUPERSTORE: Justin Spitzer on the Amy-Jonah Kiss Fallout, Mateo’s Revealed Secret, and More

Comments Off on SUPERSTORE: Justin Spitzer on the Amy-Jonah Kiss Fallout, Mateo’s Revealed Secret, and More
SUPERSTORE, one of the best comedies currently on television, threw grenades into multiple relationships in last week’s episode.
In “Safety Training,” Amy’s (America Ferrera) attempt to befriend Kelly (Kelly Stables)—AKA Jonah’s (Ben Feldman) new girlfriend—backfired when she took credit for Kelly improperly hanging signs and was forced into safety training. To get Amy out of it, Dina (Lauren Ash) planned on playing footage of Kelly’s work mistake…and instead played a mishmash of footage which included Amy and Jonah’s kiss during last season’s tornado.
Meanwhile, Mateo (Nico Santos) was injured by a falling sign, which helped out. After he kept turning down corporate’s offer for injury compensation, finally Jeff (Michael Bunin), his ex/the store’s distract manager, insisted on giving him money. But Mateo finally admitted he was undocumented and his inability to share that with Jeff was the real reason they broke up.
So where does the show go next? SUPERSTORE creator Justin Spitzer shared a few teases about what’s in store. Read more

Comments Off on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE Exclusive Video: Amy and Terry Get Unexpected Help
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE is finally (almost) back!
The Fox comedy has been off the air since December, and when it returns this Sunday (8:30/7:30c on Fox), the 99 is determined to protect Holt’s (Andre Braugher) husband Kevin (Marc Evan Jackson) from Seamus (guest star Paul Adelstein).
As the team puts Kevin away in a safe house, Amy (Melissa Fumero) and Terry (Terry Crews) sort through Seamus’ shredded documents to get insight into his location…but it isn’t exactly going well. “I don’t know why, but I’m getting a strong ‘apache’ vibe,” Terry says in the exclusive clip below, in the midst of the madness.
Amy, on the other hand, has a different approach to the investigation: “I let the pile take me,” she laments. Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) offers his assistance—and, shockingly, he could be the key to making sense of the evidence.

There’s mayhem and a powerful new enemy in the season 5 trailer for The CW’s THE 100.
The extended video opens with Clarke (Eliza Taylor) trying—apparently in vain—to reach out to Bellamy (Bob Morley) to update him about her time on Earth…and to absolve him of any lingering guilt about her presence there.
But with a valley the last remaining survivable land on the planet, things are about to get (even more) brutal on Earth as a mysterious new group makes it clear they’re willing to do everything in their power to get control of the space.

It’s a SUPERSTORE free-for-all this Thursday when Glenn (Mark McKinney) and Dina (Lauren Ash) offer amnesty to the Cloud 9 employees—and naturally, people take advantage of the intriguing offer.
Elsewhere, poor Jonah (Ben Feldman) and Amy (America Ferrera) may be hoping for amnesty of their own. After their tornado-inspired kiss (in the season 2 finale) was revealed via surveillance footage, their colleagues have a lot of questions about their relationship.

CNBC has ordered a new version of DEAL OR NO DEAL, starring longtime host Howie Mandel. The game show featured contestants picking a suitcase (which contained an amount of money ranging from a penny to one million dollars) and then opening the remaining ones as they decided whether to stick with their original choice or take a alternate deal.
“Our primetime programs, with their focus on business and money, strive to be both entertaining and instructive. Shows like THE PROFIT and SHARK TANK are built around high stakes and high rewards. Those same elements live at the heart of DEAL OR NO DEAL, which is why we believe it to be a perfect fit,” said CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman in a statement. “Today’s announcement confirms our deep commitment to primetime, strengthening our line-up, by adding one of the most successful game shows of all time along with the popular, original host, Howie Mandel.”

For the first time, a VOICE coach’s block button paid off.
In Monday’s episode, Kelly Clarkson (the only coach with a block remaining) used the new twist on Alicia Keys when contestant Hannah Goebel performed Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You.” The move worked out in Clarkson’s favor: Adam Levine and Blake Shelton turned around fairly fast, and Keys hit her button near the end of the song. Goebel admitted she would have picked Keys if she had the choice, but with her out of the running, she ultimately opted to join Clarkson’s team.

Comments Off on LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE: Hulu Orders the Reese Witherspoon-Kerry Washington Drama Straight to Series
LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE, an adaptation of Celeste Ng’s 2017 book by the same title, has been ordered straight to series at Hulu. The limited series will star Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington; LIFE UNEXPECTED’s Liz Tigelaar will showrun and executive produce. (Witherspoon and Washington will also produce LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE via their production companies Hello Sunshine and Simpson Street, respectively.)
“Celeste wove a beautiful, riveting story that spoke to all of us, and when we heard the vision Reese, Kerry and Liz have for the series, we knew immediately that we had to bring it to Hulu,” said Hulu Chief Content Officer Joel Stillerman in a statement. “We’re honored to bring this powerful story to the screen with Hello Sunshine, in their first studio project. This is exactly the type of compelling and culturally relevant content that embodies our Hulu Originals brand.”
“At Hello Sunshine, we strive to shine a light on female-driven stories that are rooted in inspiration, emotion and truth – all of which form the bedrock of Celeste Ng’s ingenious work,” says Witherspoon. “Hulu has a rich history of transforming groundbreaking literature into groundbreaking television, and we are confident that their talented team will use this story to spur a long-overdue dialogue around race, class, and what it means to be a mother. With Kerry Washington, Liz Tigelaar and now Hulu, Hello Sunshine has brought together a dream lineup of creative collaborators, and we are privileged and humbled to have the opportunity to work with them to bring this important project to life.”
“As producers, we at Simpson Street are so proud to be part of this team to tell this extraordinary story inspired by Celeste Ng’s phenomenal novel and we are thrilled to be embarking on this journey with Hulu,” stated Washington. “As an actress, I am floored to have the opportunity to work alongside Reese Witherspoon exploring the rich themes of this story playing these dynamic characters.”

How the heck is THE X-FILES going to conclude?
The Fox drama shook up its mythology in the season 11 premiere when it was revealed that the catastrophic season 10 finale—which saw an outbreak unleashed upon the world and Mulder (David Duchovny) on the verge of death, as Scully (Gillian Anderson) attempted to find a cure—was merely a premonition of what was to come.
In the season 11 finale, “My Struggle IV,” CSM (William B. Davis) does appear to be on the verge of unleashing a biological contagion on the world. And though Mulder and Scully parted with their biological son William (Miles Robbins) at the end of episode 5, he is once again back in their orbit.

Naturally, Miranda’s methods rub all of Jill’s friends the wrong way. But with Christy (Anna Faris) reeling from her law school rejection, Miranda’s can-do attitude, might be exactly what she needs.
