AMC debuted the latest version of its VISIONARIES series, and this time James Cameron, and science fiction, are taking center stage.
The series is compelling, with Cameron (and the production team) speaking to some of the genre’s heaviest hitters—Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, George Lucas, Christopher Nolan, as well as actors, critics, and experts in the genre.
But with a show like this, even the most expert fan may encounter titles they haven’t seen/experienced. (I know I certainly did when viewing the series.) The six-part docuseries made me want to go back and rewatch classics, and finally check out a few of the projects I have been meaning for years to view. So in case you feel similarly, Give Me My Remote will be compiling a list of all the projects mentioned in the series…and where you can—legally—stream/download/find them.

SUPERSTORE is ending its third year with a global event…albeit in a very SUPERSTORE-y way.
In the SUPERSTORE season finale, the St. Louis-based Cloud 9 hosts a company-wide Town Hall (streamed online for the other branches), which gives the employees the chance to ask questions to the CEO. But Jonah (Ben Feldman) and Amy (America Ferrera) realize something may be amiss, and do a bit of digging.
Check out some photos from “Town Hall.”

THE VOICE top 11 may be vocally talented…but how well can they figure out song titles based on emojis?
In this digital-only video, the remaining season 14 contestants on THE VOICE take NBC’s test to see if they can name their coach’s songs based only on emojis. Some are clear (a la Blake Shelton’s “Honey Bee”), while others are a bit more difficult. (Spoiler alert: it’s not easy to use emojis for Kelly Clarkson’s “Beautiful Disaster.”)

Comments Off on SUPERNATURAL: Alexander Calvert on Jack’s Drive in the Apocalypse World, Richard Speight Jr. Directing, and More
On Thursday’s episode of SUPERNATURAL, Jack (Alexander Calvert) has big plans in Apocalypse World…but that could lead to trouble.
“As we’ve seen, Jack wants to kill Michael to save everybody in Apocalypse World,” Calvert previews. “We’re definitely going to see how Jack’s drive and pursuit of that one goal is going to put him at odds with people that he is very close to.”
It’s a difficult transition—and potential risk—for Jack. “Throughout the season, he has definitely been looking to be a part of a family,” Calvert says. “For the time being, he found that role in Apocalypse World. Looking after this group of people, working with Mary and [Bobby]. What he deals with in this episode is he has this new role.”

“Unfinished Business” also brings the return of Osric Chau’s Kevin Tran to the Apocalypse World. Though Calvert says he wouldn’t go so far as to say the two men form any kind of relationship (at least yet), he is thrilled so many familiar faces continue to pop up in the alt-world. “The great thing about Apocalypse World has been bringing people back from other seasons,” he says. “It’s a little family reunion.”

Here’s the story of a…Marvel franchise?
THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON assembled AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR stars Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Mackie, and Tom Hiddleston for a very special parody of THE BRADY BUNCH theme song. In ‘The Marvel Bunch,’ the actors very briefly relay what led them to this point. And it’s really delightful.

BETTER THINGS: Pamela Adlon Reflects on ‘Eulogy’

Comments Off on BETTER THINGS: Pamela Adlon Reflects on ‘Eulogy’
BETTER THINGS‘ strong second year was a masterpiece, and included many installments that could rightfully be considered one of the top episodes of 2017. But even in a season of greatness, the fantastic “Eulogy” stood out.
And like much of the show, the genesis of the episode stemmed from BETTER THINGS co-creator/star/director Pamela Adlon’s real life. “I used to…let off steam to my best friend,” she shared with us in the video below prior to the comedy’s FYC panel. “She would say, ‘They’ll love you when you’re dead.'” But Adlon rejected that idea: “I would say, ‘No, I want it now! I don’t want to wait ’til I’m dead…I want everyone to get along now—I want to be around for it!”
In “Eulogy,” Sam (Adlon) was pushed to her breaking point after her daughters Max (Mikey Madison), Frankie (Hannah Alligood), and Duke (Olivia Edward) made it clear how uninterested they were in her career/life. It’s pointed out they’ll appreciate her after her death, so she demanded they put on impromptu funeral for her so they could share their real feelings now. Originally, they pushed back, but she’s lured home where her girls—as well as her close friends Tressa (Rebecca Metz) and Rich (Diedrich Bader)—shared how much they loved her.
“It was a lot of deep emotions and guiding the girls through it,” Adlon recalled of actually making the episode. “And making it a very safe place.” To protect the cast, Adlon kicked out any extra bodies—including the girls’ real-life parents. “By the time we were done, we were exhausted and exhilarated—and we knew we had been through something transformative.”

Amazon has ordered JACK RYAN season 2…months before the first season drops on its Prime streaming service.
“With so much early anticipation for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan from our customers and personally having the pleasure to preview the exhilarating, action-packed first season, we are excited to greenlight a second season of the series months ahead of its debut,” said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, in a statement. “The new season will take our unexpected hero to a new, exciting and dangerous world.”
The series stars John Krasinski as the title character (who was also the focus of Clancy’s 18-part book series), a CIA analyst who gets pulled “from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East.”

Comments Off on Anna Faris, Allison Janney, Kunal Nayyar, and Iain Armitage Join James Corden for CROSSWALK THE MUSICAL: THE SOUND OF MUSIC
With James Corden’s LATE LATE SHOW putting on a primetime special on Monday night, the series went big with one of their recurring segments—CROSSWALK THE MUSICAL: THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
But since they were going big leagues, Corden got a bit more help than normal. “The network has insisted we add some CBS stars to the cast, because apparently CBS doesn’t think I’m capable of handling primetime on my own,” he joked in the video below. To assist him? MOM stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney, as well as THE BIG BANG THEORY‘s Kunal Nayyar, and YOUNG SHELDON’s Iain Armitage.
And, well, it was hilarious. Watch their performance of the classic musical! Read more
