CBS Orders WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD, Damon Wayans Jr. Comedy to Series
May 9, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
CBS has ordered two new comedies for its 2018-2019 lineup.
The first, WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD, follows the “nicest guy in the Midwest”…who moves Los Angeles. The series stars Cedric the Entertainer, Josh Lawson, Tichina Arnold, and Dreama Walker.
The second comedy, an untitled Damon Wayans Jr. series, follows a 30-something couple who embrace their hip side when a pop superstar movies into the neighborhood. (The genesis of the series was very loosely inspired by Harry Styles’ time with LATE LATE SHOW producer Ben Winston; however, the characters and storylines are fictional.) The series stars Wayans Jr., Amber Stevens West, and Chris Parnell.
The duo join the previously ordered MURPHY BROWN as CBS’ new comedies for the upcoming television season.
