WORLD OF DANCE Season 2: Derek Hough, Jenna Dewan, and Ne-Yo on the Returning Contestants
May 29, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
WORLD OF DANCE season 2 bows on Tuesday, May 29, and the show has a fun twist planned: the NBC reality competition is bringing back breakout stars from the first go-round.
“That was a very cool aspect to me,” WORLD OF DANCE host/mentor Jenna Dewan told reporters in the video below. “I haven’t seen that on other shows prior [to this]. I like, as dancers, you do get second chances a lot. We go to competitions. Derek and I have competed since we were kids. You go, you lose, you go again, you do better. That’s just the natural progression for dancers.”
“Some came back, and they came back strong,” WORLD OF DANCE judge Derek Hough continued. “They reassessed, they reevaluated, they restrategized. They had different costumes, they were eating better, they were more healthy, they had more energy. They did everything, like a true athlete, like a true competition.”
Finished fellow judge Ne-Yo, “To see faces that you’ve seen before, but to see them better than you saw them the last time, knowing that they really took the critiques to heart, and didn’t take it personal and really took it for what it was…and to see them come back and they really listened.”
