MOM is ending its fifth season with some highs—and lows.

On the bright side, Christy (Anna Faris) is graduating. Plus, Adam’s (William Fichtner) adorable puppy is back. On the other hand, Bonnie (Allison Janney) winds up in jail, and Christy is gambling again.

Check out some photos from the two-part season finale, “Phone Confetti And A Wee Dingle” and “Diamond Earrings And A Pumpkin Head.”

It’s a very THE BIG BANG THEORY wedding in Thursday’s season finale.

After years of courtship—and a year after Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) surprise proposal—Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) are tying the knot. Of course, it’s not exactly a traditional wedding: Sheldon’s frenemy/STAR TREK vet Wil Wheaton and STAR WARS icon Mark Hamill are among the attendees.

However, navigating an event this big took work. Not only did the writers work their way toward this moment all season, but they had to lock down a large number of returning cast members. (Including Sheldon’s on-screen mother—and recent Oscar nominee—Laurie Metcalf.)

We spoke with executive producer Steve Holland (prior to the writers actually penning the episode) about what the team’s priority was in crafting the episode. Read more

SVU Renewed

NBC has renewed four Dick Wolf-produced shows: LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, CHICAGO FIRE, CHICAGO P.D., and CHICAGO MED.

The Mariska Hargitay-led SVU will enter its 20th season next year. The L&O mothership was notoriously canceled in season 20, which robbed the series the opportunity to surpass GUNSMOKE as the longest-running live-action series. (THE SIMPSONS just passed GUNSMOKE’s episode count last month.)

Over in the CHICAGO universe, the renewal marks the seventh for FIRE, sixth for P.D., and fourth for MED.

MOM’s Christy (Anna Faris) has had a tough go of things throughout the first five seasons—including an eviction; a reconciliation and then the loss of her father; the ever-present drama with her mother Bonnie (Allison Janney)—but she’s getting a significant win in the season 5 finale.

“She does get to graduate from college,” MOM co-creator Gemma Baker teases in the video below. “We get to have that moment.”
