Netflix Exec on STRANGER THINGS Delay: Season 3 is ‘Worth the Wait’
July 29, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
STRANGER THINGS may not be returning until Summer 2019—as Netflix first revealed in the season 3 tease—but it’s for the best.
“It’s a handcrafted show,” Cindy Holland, Netflix’s Vice President of Original Content said during her executive session panel at the Television Critics Association. “The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard; they understand the stakes are high. They really want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. They really want to take the time to get it right.”
When the team had their PaleyFest panel, they shared they were going back to work in April, which would have made matching the 2017 Halloween rollout nearly impossible. But Holland is confident fans will be pleased with season 3 when it eventually arrives: “I think it’s going to be fantastic season and worth the wait.”
