Showtime Sets RAY DONOVAN Season 6 Premiere, ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA Launch

Showtime has set its fall premiere schedule.

RAY DONOVAN season 6—which moves to New York—premieres on Sunday, October 28 (at 9/8c). Additionally, limited series ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA (based on the 2015 prison break) bows on Sunday, November 18 (at 10/9c).

Per Showtime, in RAY DONOVAN season 6, “we find Ray ([Liev] Schreiber) rebuilding his life both personally and professionally in New York City. After being rescued from a plummet into the East River, his savior, a cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), brings Ray into the fraternity that is the Staten Island Police Department. While exploring this new world of brotherhood and corruption, Ray finds himself once again working for media mogul Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon). Sam has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), a partnership that puts Ray at odds with his new friends out in Staten Island.” The drama also stars Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, Devon Bagby, and Graham Rogers.

ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA, “is based on the stranger-than-fiction prison break in upstate New York in the summer of 2015 which spawned a statewide manhunt for two convicted murderers, aided in their escape by a married female prison employee who carried on months-long affairs with both men. [Benicio] del Toro plays convicted murderer Richard Matt, an artistic yet intimidating force within the prison, who masterminds the escape. [Patricia] Arquette plays Tilly Mitchell, a working class wife and mother who supervises the prison tailor shop and becomes sexually involved with both men, ultimately agreeing to hide hacksaw blades in frozen hamburger meat to help them get out. [Paul] Dano plays David Sweat, a convicted cop-killer who may have genuine feelings for Tilly and becomes a reluctant partner in Richard Matt’s plot.”

DANNEMORA also stars Bonnie Hunt, Eric Lange, and David Morse.
