Kelly Clarkson Shares Details About Her New Talk Show
September 18, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
Kelly Clarkson has a busy schedule—she’s coaching the upcoming 15th season of THE VOICE and has already signed up for the 16th; plus, she just announced a tour for her latest album “Meaning of Life”—but she is potentially about to get busier: Clarkson is developing her own talk show. (UPDATE: The show has been officially ordered. It is currently set to start airing Fall 2019 on these NBC-owned television stations: WNBC New York, KNBC Los Angeles, WMAQ Chicago, WCAU Philadelphia, KXAS Dallas-Fort Worth, KNTV San Francisco, WRC Washington DC, WTVJ Miami, KNSD San Diego, WVIT Hartford, and WBTS Boston.)
“My show’s going to be a little different than anything that has been on, just because I’m still touring, I still have music,” she told Jimmy Fallon during her Tuesday, September 18 appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON. “My band is on the road with me or they’re on the show with me doing stuff.”
Which means, yes, the show will be have a musical focus at times. “We sing every day on the show, and do this fan request thing,” she said. “It’s fun. On the pilot, I got people to sing with me and do little skits. It’s very musical, as well. It would be weird if it wasn’t. But if you don’t like music, you probably shouldn’t watch!”
