About Last Night…THE VOICE and FBI
October 3, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
A little light About Last Night due to travel, but let’s discuss THE VOICE and FBI…
THE VOICE: It felt like this may have been the strongest episode of the season, so far. Yes, SandyRedd was an easy standout, but it felt like a number of the other contestants were strong enough that they should also make it far in the competition. I know it’s not super authentic for every talented contestant to get a four-chair turn, but I also enjoy it a bit more when there’s actual suspense and surprise about where the contestant is going to go.
FBI: I’m glad Sela Ward’s character was new to the team versus just new to viewers. One thing I remain curious about is how the show is going to service the ensemble. The cast was already stacked before they added Ward; through two episodes, it does feel more like a two-lead show, with the supporting cast popping in as needed. Will that sustain or will it become more of a true ensemble?
