About Last Night…ARROW, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, MANIFEST, and More
November 20, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
ARROW: With Diaz, seemingly, the villain of the season, I’m curious what his capture leads to. Was his presence a bait-and-switch? Will he get away? Or is he going to cause mayhem in other ways?
I am enjoying the evolution of Other!Laurel. If she’s going to stick around, she absolutely can’t just be evil. Last night’s episode felt like an important step to having her stick around to be part of the (accepted) team.
THE VOICE: The dedication theme was simultaneously great and cheesy/early—it let us know more about the contestants, but the song choices were also maybe not the best. The early/unexpected standouts: Sarah Grace, Makenzie Thomas, and Deandre Nico.
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: If you asked someone to describe the hour in ten seconds with a straight face and they were able to succeed…they might be worthy of a jackpot prize. THIS CRAZY SHOW. A sea creature was brought to life by a magical book, and then was defeated because an angry Legend with a major case of writers’ block was inspired to create a three-breasted warrior. Oh, and creatures escaped at the office and they were really hangry. This. Crazy. Show. (I love it so much.)
MANIFEST: It was really nice to see Cal be a kid. It feels like there is a really delicate line the show is walking with pursuing its mythology, while still knowing real answers are likely years and years away. But it’s fun having the Stones working with Vance.
