THE GOLDBERGS, RIVERDALE, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS – “fight or flight” – Recurring nightmares force Maggie to face a life-altering trauma from her past, while in real life, the group finally discovers that her cancer is back. Gary seeks help from an unexpected someone in order to make one final attempt at convincing Maggie to get treatment, but everything comes to a head at Regina and Delilah’s first tasting party at the new restaurant, leaving this circle of friends to wonder if things will ever be the same, on an all-new episode of “A Million Little Things,” WEDNESDAY, NOV. 28 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network. Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

THE GOLDBERGS: Look, the couch was bad, but holy moly those owls?! (And apparently the real Bev also lied and said she was a science teacher to get them into the country.)

The Barry and Murray moment where Barry admitted he wanted his dad around long-term was very sweet.

RIVERDALE: It’s kind of insane that for as crazy as the episode was, it was still a relatively sane hour for the show. Archie leaving town makes no sense, especially since it once again likely puts the people he love at risk. And Betty being sent away is just bonkers.

I wish they were more consistent with Alice’s behavior re: the cult. 95% of the time, she’s acting relatively normal, but then it feels like they remember they haven’t actually done enough for The Farm, and they do something like have her daughter be forcibly locked up for no cause.

MODERN FAMILY: It makes sense everyone is a little uncomfortable with Alex’s sexuality. Heck, it’s stranger as a viewer to watch these kids—who were genuinely kids when the show started!—deal with adult storylines. And I know it’s an ABC (family) show, but I’m a little surprised Haley isn’t more seriously considering an abortion.

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: The Maggie nightmares felt a bit cheesy, but it was sweet how (most) of the friends rallied around her, even if they didn’t agree with her decision to not fight her cancer.

The Ashley and Gary hookup was telegraphed from a mile away (certainly including the tidbit about Jon making her off limits in the “previously on” segment didn’t help), but it also feels like a feasible way to keep her entwined with the show. But certainly once Gary learns about Maggie collapsing, that’ll probably change things a bit.

I’m curious how long the truth of Delilah’s pregnancy will be able to remain a secret…it feels like it’s too juicy of a plot for the writers to be able to resist for long.

(Also the food at the tasting looked delicious.)
