SUPERNATURAL Episode 300: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Set to Return
December 12, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
This is one heck of a way to celebrate a milestone: Jeffrey Dean Morgan is returning to SUPERNATURAL for its 300th episode, a rep for the show confirmed.
“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars,” executive producer Andrew Dabb said in a statement to IGN.
Morgan played the Winchesters’ father, John, in the very first episode of the show. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) spent much of the first season searching for him, and the trio reunited…before he died in the second season premiere. He last physically appeared post-death in the season 2 finale in 2007, though he lent his voice to a 2008 episode.
Death has rarely been a complete obstacle on SUPERNATURAL, as virtually everyone has returned in some form or other: John’s wife, Mary (Samantha Smith), was resurrected last season, while his long-time friend Bobby (Jim Beaver) back, albeit a copy from an alternate world.
Morgan, for his part, has been busy since he left SUPERNATURAL. He’s currently starring as Negan on THE WALKING DEAD.
