To celebrate THE SIMPSONS’ 30th season—and with its 30th anniversary occurring in 2019—FXX has set a 15-hour marathon on Sunday, December 16.
The 30-episode binge has a couple of extra special elements: there is one episode included from each of the show’s seasons (so far), and the lineup was curated by long-time THE SIMPSONS executive producer Al Jean.
In addition to the marathon, Fox is celebrating the show’s legacy by reairing the first (full) episode in primetime on December 23. (The iconic animated family first appeared in shorts on THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW.)

With Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” music video/pop culture love letter breaking viewing records, it was only a matter of time before it got proper parody treatment. And it’s going to be hard for anyone to top THE LATE LATE SHOW’s “thank u, jeff.”
The late night show paid tribute to both the video and Jeff Goldblum with the catchy song, touting both Goldblum’s abilities, and, well, hotness.

Nearly 29 years ago, Fox aired the first full-length episode of THE SIMPSONS: “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.” (Prior to that, the family’s stories shorts in THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW.)
